I think everyone agrees that it's plus EV, but it's been compared to seeing peoples whole cards. Those are not close.

The answer, regardless what he was doing with DK data (and i presume it was nothing), is variance.

When the games begin, the first thing I generally look at is the ownership percentages for my team. As I go down the list I'm thinking "that's good, that's bad...etc.". If I had that info a few minutes before lock along with the percentages for all the other players then its a no-brainer that I'm making some changes.

Its a little like the Monte Hall problem. When you're given some very relevant information, you're going to be better off making changes a majority of the time.

I guess you have to give the benefit of the doubt, but given the relationships these employees have with the "competition" I'd be looking into whether ownership information (if available) was simply being traded across the fences.

He got really lucky for a month?

You could have all the inside info in the world from FD itself and win hardly anything, let alone be guaranteed to go on a streak like that.

I guess the prudent thing to do is withdraw immediately before the DOJ gets seize-y.

I don't know who Dave Zirin is, or what The Nation is.... but that is way too effing ominous.

Nation is a credible (albeit partisan liberal) magazine.

Has Vanden Heuvel issued a fatwah against DFS? Ominous indeed...

I assume that tweet is about the ny attorney general investigation.

Was still of the opinion that it would all ultimately blow over pretty quickly until the last couple hours. Starting to change my mind on that.

Ok... i guess that's good that it's the AG and not something else yet to drop.

unless his source was that DK is ****ting it's pants over it because they're guilty.

I'm very in favor of regulation and even entry caps and variability of buyin caps. Even as a small winner I think things are going down a dangerous path for sustainability and of course I want the sites to be run honestly.

As long as this doesn't result in a law banning dfs it should be a positive for most of us.

I started that RG thread by reading every post, about page 30 I started skipping the longer posts from known idiots, then I started skipping all posts from know idiots, then I started skimming the rest looking for mods/sharps or anything that might be considered news. I think I read 3 posts in the last 20 pages.

Yeah I think it's good news for like, the immediate safety of player deposits and presumably the short-term health of the games (e.g., I doubt too many recreational players will be deterred by the news). Reading that tweet on first blush, you could have assumed some kind of worse shoe to drop.

But like, still pretty bad news for the long-term health of the industry. Particularly if they're guilty of the worst people are imagining. What's the minimum sentence for perpetrating fraud in NY? Gotta be like at least a couple of years.

Unfortunately, I think any finding of real wrongdoing isnt going to result in a push to immediately regulate the industry, its going to result in AG banhammers en masse with DFS joining poker and casino games in the long legislative queue for regulation/legalization with the same sort of protectionist crap that's hampered poker efforts (states and incumbent casinos are going to want to be the real players in the space). Really hope there's no fire behind this smoke, it will be the death penalty.

The bad news:The AGs and the pols are on the march. The good news:No ones calling for an outright ban.............yet.Will the leagues, networks and big money investors back DFS or back away.ESPN suspended Curt Schilling for comparing isis to nazis ffs.Are they going to support a tainted industry? Time for DK/FD to open the books and prove they're legit.I live in NY so FML probably.Nobody jumps on a bandwagon faster then a NY pol.

I wish I still had the energy to get involved in a scandal like this like I did when I didn't have a 9-5 and helped with poker scandals.

I just hope this all works out for everyone. Too many good people in this industry + DFS is hella fun. I sincerely hope they decide to stop being a trillion dollar company and just offer an elite product tons of people will enjoy.
