I specialize in $$ Draft FPL leagues on Discord (Discord server invite:
https://discord.gg/eD9s6vwMWe) and I'm very excited to announce the launch of Draft FPL Pyramid Leagues with promotion and relegation!!
There's still some moving pieces, with discussions taking place on my discord server, but below are the details of what we have so far:
Details
Goal is to create 4 to 5 divisions (maybe more?) with 10 managers per division (40-50 managers)
Still have some time to go til the new season (August 13th) but we have about 20 managers already
Setting up Divisions - 2021/2022 season will be used as a qualifier - for example, assume we have 50 managers signed up - i'll set up 5 leagues of 10 managers each, then at the end of this season:
- 1st and 2nd place in each league x5 = placed in Division 1 in 22/23 season
- 3rd and 4th place in each league x5 = placed in Division 2 in 22/23 season
- 5th and 6th place in each league x5 = placed in Division 3 in 22/23 season
- 7th and 8th place in each league x5 = placed in Division 4 in 22/23 season
- 9th and 10th place in each league x5 = placed in Division 5 in 2022/2023 season
- New joiners after this season will automatically start from bottom division
$ Buy-in - from my past experience of running promotion/relegation leagues (back in 2010-ish), biggest problem with promotion/relegation leagues is mass exodus at the end of the season which renders promotion/relegation rules or promotion/relegation playoffs useless.
To emphasize commitment, and to achieve stability, total buy-in will be a modest $25 USD, but $10 will be a deposit for 3 seasons, and $15 will go towards prize.
If you exit within the 3-season commitment period, your deposit will be distributed to other managers in a form of prize of some sort
Misc
Each League will have its own Cup competitions (calling it League Cup)
There will be a cross-league Cup competition (calling it FA Cup)
Prize Payout structure is TBD but it will likely follow my other leagues
