Guess I drew the short straw and got pick#1 in my 12 team PPR.

Most everything I read says Jefferson is consensus top pick but I just cant help thinking a RB1 in line for 80+ catches is too valuable to pass on in this spot. Thoughts?

I'd go CMC and then not pick another RB until like the 8th Rd probably.

The Trey Lance possibility worries me with regard to CMC. I think Brock is the week 1 starter, but there is a world where Trey plays this season.

I also worry about consistent game to game volume with how good SF projects to be and the fact that keeping CMC healthy for the playoffs should be their number one priority. Part of the reason he was so great in Carolina is because he was the entire offense. Shanny doesn't need that out of him.

I won't fault anyone for taking CMC first overall, but I'm JJ there all the way. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kirk reach 700 passing attempts this season. I just think JJ is as safe as it gets, with similar upside to CMC.

SF also plays the Cardinals in week 15 and the Commanders in week 17. I could see both of those games being games where it's over before the 4th and CMC just isn't needed much in the 2nd half.

Just read an article on Espn about the Bears backfield - the RBs are going really late in drafts.

Anybody particularly like K. Herbert or Foreman to take on RB1 type of workload, or is this an awkward time-split with little value (+ Fields presence may just crush their value) ?

I'm pretty annoyed Foreman went there (dynasty owner). That backfield won't be fun until an injury, and even then. The rookie Rb there is going to be in the mix too.

Did $100YPL auction to practice drafting auction for a league i care about. I can't tell if it's good or bad. I crushed the starting lineup obviously, but i have basically 0 depth. Maybe that doesn't matter in a 10 tm. Did i do well or screw up?

10 tm .5ppr QB/2RB/2WR/TE/Flex/K/DST $200 Auction

QB - Hurts ($24)
RB - Henry ($41)
RB - Walker ($16)
WR - Reek ($54)
WR - Kupp ($48)
TE - Engram ($1)
Flex - London ($8)
K - Bass ($1)
DST - Pats ($1)
BN - Meyers ($1)
BN - Bateman ($1)
BN - Zay Jones ($1)
BN - Singletary ($1)
BN - Gainwell ($1)
BN - Fournette ($1)

Fair points and I think Purdy will be on a quite short leash.

I think this is just like the Eagles situation described upthread but worse given they are a worse offence (would also not be surprised if Roschon Johnson also worked his way into a RBBC)

Looks like you crushed it to me - the cardinal sin of auctions is buying too many middle tier players and not enough studs, which you obviously avoided.

That said, Henry/Walker probably not my preferred targets at RB but its tough to know for sure without seeing values of the other top 24 RBs

I have one open spot in a 2p2 superflex redraft league. It's a 12 team league. $50 buy in, pays $350/$100/$50/$100 = playoff 1/2/3/regular season high scorer.

Starting lineup of QB/2RB/3WR/2Flex/SF. No kicker or defense. 6 bench and 2 IR. FAAB for the wire.

The league is on Sleeper. The draft is a slow draft with a 24 hour clock that will begin on 8/27 at the conclusion of the last preseason game. The draft usually takes about a week to complete. Lots of draft trading and discussion in the chat. This is the fourth year running.

Please PM if you're interested in joining.

What is the best site to put in some off-the-wall scoring types and get custom rankings based on the scoring? League I'm in has scoring for completed passes, negatives for incomplete passes, first downs made, and bonuses for 100+ rushing or receiving yards, or 300+ passing yards, among other settings. Any thoughts?

I believe the Fantasypros mock draft simulator might work, but I don’t think it’s free for that level of customizing.

Eagles RBs, basically no clarity.

Why are you trying to get me to buy more Gainwell stock!

I was so hyped on him last year I'm not sure I can go through it again.

I still think Penny is the best RB of the group but feel Swift will be the clear RB1 there by mid season.

Don’t fall for the trap haha.

But yeah, it’s really hard to know how that backfield is going to go. I expect all 3 to be involved when healthy.

Penny probably is the best RB of the group for the two possessions before he injures himself again

Posting to subscribe, getting closer to draft season.

I rand'ed 4th out of 12 in one of my leagues, should do some mocks to see how that goes but it is kind of a puke spot IMO.

I like the 4. Kupp or Reek or CMC if he’s there and that’s the route you want to go. But I’d go receiver. Don’t think I’d take Kelce at 4 in a 12 teamer, but there’s an argument.

Solid RB1 in the 2nd. Probably another solid RB1 in the third or Andrews or Ridley, but depending on platform, can get him later. Or guys like Olave, Tee, Devonta, etc. Elite QB in the 4th if you want. Think you’ll like it once you start mocking.

Bestball 11/12 - Roster Construction of QB 2 - RB - 6 WR - 8 TE - 2

1. AJ Brown WR - (Lamb, Garret Wilson, Davante, Waddle)
2. Amon St. Brown WR
3. DJ Moore WR - (Cooper, Deebo, Josh Allen, Jeudy, Higgins)
4. Justin Fields QB
5. Mattison RB - (Marquise Brown, Godwin, Kirk, Aiyuk)
6. Walker RB -
7. Engram TE - (Swift, Conner, Sutton, James Cook, Flowers) - I was between Engram and Conner here, was hoping Conner would get back to me, guy in last spot hadn''t drafted a TE yet, so took a gamble.
8. Rashaad White RB
9. Doubs WR - (Freiermuth, Dalvin Cook, Bigsby, Dulcich)
10. Herbert RB
11. Meyers WR - (Schultz, Higbee, Mooney, Zamir White
12. Kmet TE - Let's go Chicago offense
13. Pickett QB - (Stafford, Mostert, Singletary, Everett)
14. Mims WR
15. Patterson RB - (Bryce Young, Campbell, Deon Jackson, Richie James)
16. Shakir WR
17. Dortch WR - (Malik Davis, Kareem Hunt, Conklin)
18. Deuce Vaughn RB

Please tell me that there was third round reversal, not taking Jawsh at 3.11 and then taking Fields three picks in order to take ****ing DJ Moore as your WR3 seems horrible

Really dislike rds 3-5

3. DJM is pretty easily the worst of the group you showed. Higgins or Josh pretty easily in that spot, Deebo would’ve been defensible. feel like you went a bit overboard on trying to get correlation

4. Bit of an overpay on fields imo, would’ve rather taken josh in the 3rd by a lot

5. Walker or Kirk for me there imo. Prob take all the wrs over mattison

I also don't really get why you take three WRs to start off in best ball, then use three of your last five picks on WR - how often, if ever, is Khalil Shakir going to register points for you? If it's three WR and two flex for starting positions or something else deep then maybe, but I'd rather go with more RB lottery tickets late

Also really don't like the Engram pick, if I can't get in on Pitts/Waller or better I'm waiting until you take Kmet at 12 then grabbing another one or two from that sort of tier and hoping one of them finds the end zone each week.

Cliffs - swap out DJM, Fields, Engram, Mims and Dortch for Allen, Higgins, Conner, Everett and Conklin and I think you easily get more points over the course of the season

I think Engram is tricky this year. I get the wait thing, but the gap between Engram and Kmet might be huge.
