Disagree. I have it Burrow >> Fields > Herbert with Burrow in his own tier and Fields and Herbert in the same tier. Obviously Herbert is a much better real life qb, but Fields is a v good fantasy qb

I have it

Hurts
Allen
Mahomes
Lamar

Burrow

Fields
Herbert

Watson
Lawrence

Dimes
Tua
Geno
Kirk
Dak

Richardson

TE DEF

(no K)

There is a weekly bonus pool for being highest scoring team, so more incentive to stack/gamble on upside

Thinking of this for draft resources / strat:

FantasyPros Projections with my league's scoring settings - consensus of 5/6 sources

Fantasy Pros and Fantasy Footballers podcasts (haven't listened to the 2nd but it had a lot more ratings.

anyone have any free sources they prefer?

It seems like drafting 11th I'll almost certainly end up doing:

first 4 picks WR unless the draft's super WR heavy
3 or 4 RB in 5-8 ( basically end up w 4 WR and 3 Rb by 8)
if no one drops hope for a startable QB at 9/10 and 1 more 1-2 rounds later
punt TE (grabbing 2 in the last few rounds hoping 1 work out) and DEF (14 or 15) looking for a last WR/RB somewhere along the way depending on who I like at the end
maybe only get one TE if I like a lot of the late rounders at WR/RB when my picks come up

Finished the 12 team PPR draft

QB Lamar Jackson
RB Miles Sanders
RB Mattison
WR Diggs
WR AJ Brown
WR Addison
TE Edwards
DEF Saints
Flex Gabe Davis, penny, perine, or achane

Wasn’t sure kinda clicked buttons after locking up Danny Dimes. Seems like this league overvalued fun/upside WR so I’m glad I got the first 2 I did with a decent 2nd 2

I was so sad Breece Hall fell all the way past the 2 RB teams and then one of the others went BPA and took a third anyway. 8 was probably the opponent draft I liked the most outside of randomly going Lamb at 1.8

I've noticed in the best ball drafts that I'm doing, Mostert and Jeff Wilson are always available late. Someone just took Wilson in the 17th round. Is something going on that I don't know about? I know there were Jonathan Taylor trade rumours, but I've also heard he is not likely to be traded. Achane is a new player, but it doesn't sound like he'd take over as a started.

Right now, Mostert and Wilson are looking like good late value picks, unless there is something I don't know about.

Just had a few questions after recently getting started on best ball.

#1. What are your go to or preferred stacks? The best one that I have done would be pairing Goff with St Brown and sometimes La Porta. I've also got Herbert with Keenan Allen or Everett a few times. I've done Tyreek with Tua as well, but I'm not as confident in Tua and his health status. I've gotten Chase in the first round and had a chance to target Burrow, but went with Mahomes as QB instead. I've also paired Jordan Love with Watson and Musgrave.

#2. As far as buy in levels for best ball, as what stakes would you guys say there is an increase difficulty for competition? As a poker player I can honestly say that I'm a winner long term, but I also have enough self awareness to admit that I'm probably not winning at MTTs above $20 long term. I'm very experienced and well studied in online poker, but I also know that I'm not as sharp with poker theory, GTO, video training as other players are who are regs at $20+ MTTs; and that my profits also come from casuals and donks stacking off and making mistakes.

Right now I'm only doing $1 best ball tournaments. I definitely needed the practice as I was making alot of mistakes. Over the course of the 20 drafts I've done, I've been able to improve my process for drafting as well. I watched a cool video from Establish The Run that was really helpful in giving me more awareness about roster construction. I've been making notes on where certain players are going in drafts so that I can improve my expectations for the next drafts, as there are many spots where a player will get picked that don't match my rankings sheet. I've just been able to plan my late picks better as well.

I'm definitely ready to move up stakes, but as far as what buy in amount, I'm not sure. As a new best ball player, I just don't want to be in drafts full of sharks that will crush me and take away and EV.

How high are you taking him now? Seeing him go late second in some expert drafts. Think i put him after olave/waddle before higgins

The whole "away from football" take on Ridley, I dunno. We draft guys coming back from injury. This guy wasn't injured.

I know this, it's his contract year. His next deal is going to be his last big one (given that he's 28). I think this guy balls out like a savage.

Really dislike the Miles Sanders pick, would’ve taken all the WRs that went after. Otherwise seems pretty good

I have Ridley above Olave. I think Olave is a hell of a player, but I hate his coaches. Maybe they adjust this season with Carr, but I fear a slow, boring, non-aggressive play style. Especially with them having the projected easiest SOS.

Waddle is probably the line, but I kind of want to put Ridley over him too. Definitely over Tee/Devonta. Ridley has the chance to be the true #1 on his team on an ascending offense. Those 3 guys will always be the #2 without injury. Waddle’s efficiency numbers are also absurd and I’m not sure they’re sustainable.

Agreed. All reports have been very positive. He has looked really good in multiple videos now. Has looked good in actual games. Some people will point to the way Deshaun returned last year since he also wasn’t injured, but those circumstances are different. And QB vs WR is a different ballgame too. And 3 of Deshaun’s 6 games back last year were also sub 35 degree weather.

Ultimately, today, I think I’d put Ridley WR10 behind JJ, Chase, Kupp, Reek, Diggs. CD, AJB, ARSB, Wilson and Adams. The good news is that on sites like ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, etc you don’t have to pay that price.

Actually thinking about it you make a very good point.

My post was definitely thinking more on the dynasty side but after doing a few mocks in 1QB redraft Fields seems the high variance choice but has the best league winning upside

I’m not. Still the clear top option on one of the best offenses in the league, that also passes a lot with the RB1 not being a workhorse profile. This team will be in competition for the division, and possibly #1 seed, all year long.

People forget just how good he was last year since he ran bad in the fantasy playoffs.

Had my main Lg I care about draft tonight. I feel good about it, but I don’t feel like I maximized my opportunities. There were a few ppl bidding in weird ways that messed me up

Drafting Taylor also kinda screwed up my plan, but I felt like keeping him for under $30 next year had value as Chase will be $35 next yr

.5ppr 10 tm auction (1 keeper over $30, 1 keeper under $30)

Qb/2rb/2wr/Te/2Flex/K/Dst - $200auction

Is this ok or did I mess up

Qb - Lamar ($21)
Rb - Taylor ($28)
Rb - White ($2)
Wr - Chase ($20) keeper
Wr - Diggs ($49)
Te - Friermuth ($1)
Flex - CD Lamb ($44) keeper
Flex - Big Mike ($17)
K - Bass ($1)
Dst - Commanders ($1)
Bench Rb - McKinnon ($2), Perine ($2), Spears ($2), Roschon Johnson ($2)
Bench wr - Cooks ($5), Johnston ($2)
Bench te - Kincaid ($1)

Last minute settings shenanigans in year 19 of my top $ league - TWO super flexes and no dedicated QB slot!!

So 10 team, half PPR and:
Super flex
Super flex
RB
WR
WR
TE
Flex
Flex
K
Def

Overall plan is if can get two of hurts/Allen/Mahomes/burrow/Herbert/Lamar/Fields/Lawrence then do it, otherwise wait. Anyone to add to that list? Deshaun? Tua?

Also plan to punt TE and weight WRs the most.

Dimes seems like a good backup qb2 if you can’t get the studs

Weird draft, chalk it up to getting loaded on a Monday at 4PM. Thought I had a great first 4 rounds, then lost the plot after a few too many. People went RB heavy in 1+2 and then a weird QB run in 3+4. Feel like I screwed up taking a bunch of meh RBs cause I felt like I had WR locked down.

Ended up with:

Lamar
Herbert
Garret Wilson
ARSB
Breece
Mark Andrews
Ken Walker
James Conner
Diontae Johnson
Hollywood Brown
Elijah Mitchell
S. Perine
Jimmy G
Dallas
Jake Elliot
