I think it was more of a case of Jacobs and Ruggs (at least in the first half) working rather than anything negative towards Edwards, for sure he's not an essential hold in a shallow league if there was a high priority waiver target available, but I'd wait a week, if he's still doing nothing in a probable shoot out this week then yeah, dump

You've got Gruden/Mayock wanting to feed Ruggs to justify the pick and then Edwards needs to supplant Waller for some targets.
Just a slow start mainly but Carr is an issue.

Edwards played more snaps than Ruggs which is a good sign but I might have read the way Carr and Edwards fit together wrong. I might have been asking to much of Edwards to just come in and pop right away in a season like this too. I wasn't worried about Waller/Edwards target share. Was high on Waller and drafted him everywhere in BB. I thought they could coexist. I just envision an Edwards/Carr BFF connection right out of the gate and in game one that didn't look close to happening. Felt strongly Edwards would out target Ruggs.

I like Minshew a lot. Decent weapons. Likely good game scripts. He doesn't make a lot of bad decisions. Wentz is meh. But yeah, with MT going out, it's probably going to be the Kamara and Murray show. Brees's best bet is to either TD to Cook or hit Kamara/Murray out the backfield.

Good thing they got Sanders in the off-season.

I still think Brees has an edge of Tanne, Cousins, and Carr, but they'll all have big games here and there.

Yeah, operational knees would certainly be preferable, but I also think the opportunity has been overstated all along. He played less than 50% of the snaps in week one, while Freeman, with a similar lack of other options, maxed out around 60% iirc. Atlanta seems likely to be behind and in catch up mode a lot, so I could see a lot of similar game scripts to week one, where despite his QB throwing for 450 yards, Gurley could only manage 2 receptions for 1 yard. He was similarly terrible in the passing game last year as well.

The touchdown he scored helps to mask some of this, and perhaps people will dismiss some of this as an anomalous game script, so if anyone that drafted him can recover reasonable value, I would advise trying to do so as it may soon be too late to get out. I see him as a low floor, low ceiling option this year, which are the kind of guys I try to avoid the most.

Ruggs missed several plays when he got banged up late in the first half so wouldn't read too much into that

Cousins has been a bit underrated/boring to own in fantasy, but he still gets it done. I don't think im dropping Brees for him yet, but he still avg'd 20.2 ppg in fantasy last year, so he's playable in SuperFlex for sure.



I heard all the same stuff about Ebron in the pre-season, made sure to grab him, and then 2 targets in a fantastic matchup against the Giants.

I like Edwards too, but maybe the hype was just overblown. I'm sticking with both for another week at least.
