Definitely a viable option, I just feel like they're so high up in salary, hard to make that big of a contract fit

yeah, they need something

LeMahieu to Yankees, will play some 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base, could probably slide in for Tulo as well if he struggles. Intriguing sign, wonder where he'll hit in the lineup.

Bregman had arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow, "expected" to be ready opening day. Terrifying, and not touching him at his ADP of late 1st/early 2nd right now

LOL at Trea Turner still going top 10. Even bigger LOL at Merrifield going #24 overall... that team (#5) looks awful through 10 rounds

Turner's ADP is up to 10 this month in NFBC, Merrifield at 31. I wouldn't touch Merrifield early either, but SB are scarce and sought after. Turner could still have more of a power breakout, and 20/40 are big numbers.
Agreed on team 5 looking awful though

From my 30 seconds of research, FSTA uses AVG and not OBP which boosts Turner into the top 10 on some of the auction calculators.

The guys who took him have an interesting team with him and Mondesi (who probably benefits from the AVG category vs OBP as much as anyone).

I'm already stressing about my keeper choice. I'm keeping Bregman, Snell, Verlander, and I keep one other. I have to decide between Merrifield and Soto. I'm pretty sure locking up Soto seems more important long term, but it's hard to pitch Whit back to the draft.

Seems a bit dependent on the format, how long you can keep guys and at what cost, etc .. but I'd think about both bats over a 36 year old pitcher. They are just separated by 5-6 picks in the NFBC ADP so its not crazy. I know Merrifield's skill set isn't one that generally ages all that well but he's kinda a "young" 30 given he's played a lot of 100-120 game seasons on the minors up to this point.

If you are locked into Verlander I think you have to go Soto.

I hadn't even considered that just because I keep thinking that Verlander will be a stud still this year. But yeah, if Merrifield continues to shine, then it's more likely I get mileage out of him for 3-5 years than Verlander.

It's just a keep 4. No limit on number of times I can keep someone. Cost isn't round based or anything. Just keep 4.

If each team only keeps 4 players then theres no way I'm ever keeping Merrifield under any circumstance.

Soto > Merrifield anyway

Also depends on who else is going to be kept. While in a straight value sense Soto>Merrifield. Merrifield gives you steals without killing you in other categories. That is super valuable, because you can find power later.

I think lots of people are severely overrating speed this year.

I understand it due to scarcity somewhat. It depends on the player, but Merrifield is already 30, he isn't a young player anymore. I'm not drafting someone that early for SB who is more likely to get hurt due to his age, had a down year in HR in the year where almost everyone had more power, and is in a god awful lineup, with another speedster that may depend more on for SB. It seems more likely they put him in the middle of the lineup since he has some "power", with Mondesi/Billy Hamilton at like 1/9, I just don't see them pushing him for speed.

Lindor with "moderate" calf sprain, will resume baseball activities in 7-9 weeks, or roughly late March-Early April
First game for Cleveland is 3/28, seems likely to miss some part of the start of the season I'd imagine

I should note, I think, that it's 12 team. Is Merrifield not in your top 40? I am guessing not from your comments, but I think he's really likely to live up to that if he stays healthy.

Keeper help specifically on the last two - 6X6 with OBP and Holds, QS instead of wins, normal categories otherwise. 12 team keeper, we get to keep 8, cost rise by a $1 if under $10 or 10% of keeper cost of over $10. I'm struggling between wheeler and Contreras but let me know if there are any other big holes

Locks
Turner - $4, 2 years left
Severino - $3, 3 years left
Machado - $12, 1 year left
Berrios - $2, 3 years left
Syndergaard - $4, 1 year left

Pick 3 from the following
Contreras - $3, 2 years left
Mazara - $10, 4 years left
Tim Anderson - $1, 4 years left
Zack Wheeler - $1, 4 years left

I like Mazara's upside being how young he his and the fact that he walks a lot. I like Anderson for steals to pair with Turner so I won't have to worry about them in the draft but that leaves me with 3 SS (2 Utility slots btw). Total draft $ is 280 so i'll have a lot to spend. Wheeler was solid last season but he'd be my 4th SP. Have to let Willson go back right?

Think he's highly overrated. They have 2 younger guys likely stealing more, he'll be hitting in the middle of lineup where he likely can steal less. Why would I drop a top 40 pick (his ADP is closer to 30) on a guy hitting ~.285 with maybe 30-40 SB, when there's guys late who can do the same thing like Garrett Hampson (ADP 188), Ramon Laureano (ADP 185), Cedric Mullins (ADP 318) much later. Even Villar is going ~85, and in 54 games with Baltimore last year had 8HR/21 SB. Around Merrifield is Soto, Bauer, Bryant, Kershaw, Rizzo, Severino going after him, it's not even close I'd rather have them.

You do realize Mazara had 40 walks last year right? Contreras had more and a higher OBP. Think it definitely is Wheeler and you get to have a big budget for bats (assuming this is 1 C league, if 2 C than definitely Contreras)
