I guess David Price wasn't the best pick up with TB counting against pitchers. He gave up 3 home runs last night. I haven't looked up whether that's an anomaly or not.

I hope its just the 4-6 weeks they are predicting right now. I am getting killed by injuries to high priced talent. 2 Turners, 3 Murphys and a Stanton. Other than that my teams are pretty healthy so far. I killed (so far) the back end of my drafts though so most of my teams are weathering the storm well.

I pushed Boyd last year, and after his previous start. He's now at 11.1 IP, 10H, 4ER, 4BB, 23K(!!), and current schedule will have him missing starts against PHI/BOS (CLE, PIT, CWS, CWS, KC are tenative ones coming up)

Forgot to mention, in tonight's game 26 swinging strikes in 6.1IP

He's certainly on my "streamer" list. This is an intriguing year for streaming pitchers, especially in AL. There are so many worthless looking offenses that almost any reasonable average pitcher can look like Cy Young against. I am employing an earlier stream strategy this year to fill my innings earlier since their are lots of guys I like in spots but not guys I want to hold. Had a huge one picking up Shoemaker for yesterday and immediately dropping (Boston next). I plan to use a rotating piece at the end of my rotation to pick on these teams that just can't seem to hit anyone.

Any idea what he's doing different this year?
Somehow his SwStr% is currently double anything else he's ever done before, at a ridiculous 20%. I know tony sample size and all, but swings and misses is one of the quickest rates to stabilize.
Im mad at myself for using up all my adds in every league he's still available.

One thing about yesterday was an extreme shadow situation where batters were in the shade and the mound in sunlight. I watched a little of it and he looked nasty. I think he is throwing more sliders than ever before though. Plus NYY lineup is horrible right now. They quickly went from a stack in DFS to a grab the guy pitching against them. I had Boyd all over DFS yesterday so that worked out real well.

He reworked his slider last year which is where he started to improve (less speed but a lot more movement). Last year hitters had ISO of .164 against his 4 seam fb, and ISO of .318 against his 2 seam fb, he had an extreme fly ball rate last year which caused a lot of damage. He's basically ditched the 2 seamer this year (only thrown 4 times in the 2 starts)

Ryu strained his left groin muscle, same one that took him out of action most of last year, doesn't seem great

Another reason why having a surplus of closers is often good in YPL rotos. Those lacking them are desperate. Just traded Minter who I grabbed with the last round pick for Jose Abreu leaving me with still 3 solid closers better than Minter even with Vizciano out. Would love to see the Braves sign Kimbrel now

Just FYI, bragging about trades like that doesn't help out your case

I only have one share but wanted more and kept missing. I think batting down in the order hurts him,

I think there will be some regression. He has been a solid hitter for long enough. Season isn't even a month old. The first month is a good time to jump on guys who look like they may have made a major change, but not quit on guys who you thought would be good that are struggling to start the year.

Agree that it is too early to panic on anyone with a reasonable track record. But people always do. Pretty much every Red had sucked for the first week or two. One of my leagues a guy dropped Suarez and I hated that I didn't have the waiver priority to get him. I do like Peraza a lot better in the top of the order though and he may still get there. Last year he waaaay outproduced his draft price and therefore got drafted much sooner this year. But that is a good park to hit in and the early season weather often screws guys up a little.

At least he's pairing it with that sweet 0% BB rate!

Cano dropped in 1 of my leagues, thinking of dropping Peraza for him, yay or nay? Have Villar/Jose Ramirez/Peraza filling my 2B/3B/SS and Senzel on bench for when he comes up

I would dump Peraza for him easily. I dumped my one Peraza share last week as there are plenty of better guys on the wire. Peraza isn't even really starting right now. Depending on depth of league you can repick him up if he ever gets going but he seems useless right now

That's nothing. Wait until you look at tomorrow's lineup and realize that everyone from any game that was PPD today, is already locked for tomorrow!
That's right, Yahoo ****ed something up so badly that players from today's rain outs cannot be edited in or out on Saturday.

Oh ****. I was all excited because I could actually sub out my PPD players today... and you’re right. I can’t mess with those guys in my Saturday lineup. Ugh. I thought I actually made a difference.
