Seems like yesterday it was WR/WR/RB in the first 3 rounds
As someone relatively new to NFL in general, but watching it super hard since we started (so 2011 or so whenever "The League" was on TV and inspired a bunch of friends to run our own fantasy league).
I think this is just a progression of every year being a bit of recency bias. I remember a few years where all the RBs went down hurt, and likewise a few years where just glutton feeding all the WRs (Calvin Johnson being the main one) was just the norm.
Heck, I think second year Aaron Rodgers was the #1 overall pick
EDIT: Second as per FFC, with Brady at 4 and Brees at 8

However, I think the NFL is slowly recognising that the Cowboys strategy with DeMarco Murray (RB is a relatively replaceable position, so get a rookie, give them ALL the carries and then see if they are worth a second contract) means that while the position is being valued less for organisations in term of $$$ vs WRs, it is having an increased value for fantasy players specifically as one player takes the majority of the load vs various RBBC's.
If anything, it is a fun read going back and looking at the old FFC ADPs. Eddie Lacy was the #3 pick three years ago, now isn't even in the league.
