Man what platform are you guys drafting on where Hopkins and OBJ fall to picks 12/13 in PPR??
Haven't seen that at all on Yahoo

I also did this 2-3 years back, everyone here hated it, and I did cash in the playoffs with a team like it. So how about this out of the 12

I went:

Hopkins
ODB
Kelce
Godgers
Hyde

And then I included value RB picks like Sony Michel, Adrian Peterson, Kerryon Johnson and Aaron Jones. I think there's 2 starters there every week along with Hyde.

Is that so bad? I think that lineup will drop 135 on you pretty often. Not hard to get Chubb later if you think one of them leads that backfield eventually.
Seems like a ZeroRB strat which means its better in standard, but less so in PPR. I think league structure is also relevant to how good this strategy is. I think this type of drafting strategy is best when payouts are heavily based on playoff results and half of teams go to the playoffs. That is because it is lower variance, but limits upside somewhat by lacking stud RBs.

Dynasty
Need to pick up a D
Best left in the order I like them. Any strong reason to change the rankings?

Chargers
Saints
Broncos
Texans

Probably taking the Saints because F the Chargers and Broncos

Another common debate out of the ppr 12 spot:

R Freeman or Drake ?
Amari Cooper, Josh Gordon, Demarius Thoms, or JuJu ?
T Coleman, Chris Carson, Sony Michel, or Barber?

Also Kyle Rudolph in the 7th seems like great value now that he has a QB. Is there really much point in a TE in the 5-6 range when he's there later?

Rules question:

So I have a league where we got 12 people to commit so we randomized the order. No payments were sent, this was IRL friends for live draft. One guy dropped out and we replaced him. Do we re-randomize the order?? Or does the new guy just take over his slot?? (I didn’t mention what pick he had when he agreed to join).

Thoughts?

Lol guy who drops out after, and in the future obv get payments first. But as played, I think the guy gets the pick that was drawn.

If new guy says he is in and then finds out his slot has already been predetermined and he didn't realize that was the deal, he's obv free to leave the league no hard feelings. Up to you guys if you want to redraw slots to get the league filled right away or not.

I don't think Royce will catch a lot of balls which is being overlooked in PPR. I rather go Drake at 36/37.

Im not drafting Gordon or Demaryius in any league. Think they are highly overrated. I rather go Juju or Amari or Baldwin who has been dropping. Or Hogan

Carson > Coleman > Barber > Michel IMO

Why grab Rudolph in the 7th when you can be getting more WR/RB when you can get a TE who is projected similarly in rounds 10/11? Rudolph isn't anything special

In my cheapest buy-in league - ESPN 10 team, non-PPR ($25) kamara, kareem hunt, elliot & david johnson were kept and nobody kept anyone in the 1st or 2nd and yet somehow hopkins dropped to 15. He got picked after everyone you'd expect plus dalvin cook, d freeman, Brady, cmac, jordan howard & mixon.

wilson
leveon, ajayi, drake, rex, kerryon, aaron jones, CJ anderson
michael thomas, diggs, crabtree, edelman, golladay
gronk

I'd say the new guy gets the quiters spot.

11 remainers stay where they are relative to each other.

Draw the other guy a spot from 1-12

Should I feel scared that I'm more confident in my draft plan than I have in many years? I don't feel like I'm paying attention more, and we seemingly have less information than most years because so many teams are punting the preseason. Of course my partner basically just pissed on my plan so hopefully we're not back to square 1.

12 team Total points league
No bench (can IR)
2 QB, 4 RB, 4 WR (one can flex to TE), 1 TE, K, D
Snake draft with reversal starting round 7, so slot 12 gets 1st pick in 6 and 7.
I'm drafting 8.

Plan:
1 - Fournette (Hunt fallback if LF is taken)
2 - OBJ or Julio
3 - Best RB available - Miller/Drake/McKinnon/etc.
4 - QB - looking for Goff or Ryan or Cousins
5 - RB or 2nd QB (guys we like are Rivers, Ingram, Mahomes, some others)
6 - whatever we didn't get in 5. (maybe Carr if RB in 5 or Ingram might slip)
7 - WR - Hogan, Sanders, MJones
8 - RB4 - Blount/L.Murray/gamble on a backup
9 - TE if there's one like we like, otherwise best WR avail
10 - WR/TE
11 - WR
12 - D who cares
13 - K who cares less

My thinking is that with a max of 48 WRs taken, there are so many guys like Lockett, Hurns, Meredith, Fuller, any Ram, Crabtree, Stills that I like that will be there late without any issue, that our last 2 can be some of them. My partner just studied the winner from last year and he basically punted RBs in the draft but got Kamara off the WW.

I think Rudolph is special. I think he's been floating around bad QB situations on and off. That said the bad oline is a concern. He may be blocking a lot more.

I agree with the rest, give or take. Thanks for the comments!

I’m drafting 11th, and here’s where I’ve gotten to:
Collins=Drake > r freeman. I started out worried about frank gore, but think Drake is by far their best offensive weapon, and Gase is been respectful of gore in preseason given he’s the established league veteran. I want to love Collins but actually think Dixon looks quick and worry that they will go a little more timeshare than Collins price indicates. I think freeman will be a two down thumper and not catching many balls

Cooper>juju>>>dt/Gordon

As someone else stated I pretty much want zero dt and Gordon (even though I do think Gordon’s upside is big, floor is very low and a 3/4th rounder too much to spend)

Hyde>Carson>barber>Michel>freeman

Love Hyde and actually really like Carson...Michel could be great but I expect it to happen next yr. also tend to like the wrs at the 7/8 turn, particularly crowder and Funchess

Lol so my internet connection died and it autodrafted Julio over McCaffrey for me. So my first two picks were ODB and Julio.

I'm fence swinging ever since

lol I think I'm too bashful to post the results. Not a fun time.

I'll tell you what the rest of my team looks like, other than the RBs:

QB: Wentz JImmy G
WR: ODB Julio JuJu
TE: Ertz OJ Howard
D: Vikes
K: Legatron

You see what I did there. The Rb's buuuurn though.

Spoiler:
Ingram, Kerryon Johnson, Barber, Wilkins, Ekeler and ....Gore

That’s not a bad list of RBs.

But who are your starters??

Well I guess week 1 I start Kerryon and Barber at RB. It's QB/ 2 WR / 2 RB / TE / normal flex, so I'm pretty much always starting 3WR. If Mack is hurt I can start the Colts kid.

It's FAAB, so I can keep every dollar I've got and blow my load on an RB I suppose. Try to be patient. I swear I've never been sniped like that before. Savages plucking RB's like 15-20 spots early, all night.

But yes, not my fave experience ever at fantasy. Lol my internet provider.

Never been a fan of DT but last year he got like 140 targets and now has a top 28 QB throwing to him.
He's going around guys like Tate, Gordon, Goodwin, Robinson, Corey Davis

Not saying I'm hyped to grab him or anything but seems like a decent argument can be made to take him in that company.
