Need HR and RBI power out of a pickup. 12 team. Andujar, Teoscar, and Villanueva all available. I want Andujar out of that bunch, right?

Then I have to debate a 2nd pickup between the 2nd of that bunch, Dustin Fowler, or Marco Gonzalez.

I just traded a 3 for 1 to get Votto, so I have these waiver pickups to make.

Just picked up Joc Pederson in my (fairly deep) league.

K rate way down, 5 HR in ~150AB ain't great, but he's also at an 8% HR/FB right now which is a career low. It's possible he's gotten his power stroke back and won't be a BA drain anymore.

Strange coincidence I just noticed.
Rookies lose prospect/rookie eligibility when they reach 130 PA's or 50 innings pitched in MLB.
Ohtani has 129 PA's and 49.1 IP

One of my leagues has a couple keeper slots reserved specifically for players who are still rookie eligible.... so for my own selfish fantasy reasons, I really hope if he tries to come back without surgery that its not until next year

While it sucks, and I'm fairly sure he won't pitch this year, it seem like he'll be able to hit this year. I can't recall many times this has happened, but remember Crawford in 2012 had a sprained UCL (no word on severity), rested ~3 months and was able to come back and play in the OF. If they know he's not gonna pitch again, they could let his elbow fully rest, and use him more as a full time DH. I can't recall another time where someone has had a torn UCL (partially or fully) and DH'ed, so no idea for sure, but with them pushing for playoffs this year it seems likely.

Sure would be OK with me if the Padres would quit rolling out Hand in the 8th!

Jeff Sullivan on Fangraphs has mentioned him as an intriguing young player who deserves and hasn't got much of a shot yet in his chats

By the way, Jeff Sullivan has transcripts of his chats posted every Friday... they aren't fantasy-oriented but they're really quite good. He has an uncanny ability of knowing who and what's to be believed, and what's a fluke, using advanced data.

Seems like outrageous rungood in his stats--38% HR/FB, .392 babip causing a .324 BA despite nearly 30% k-rate, but whatever, my team is mostly waiver wire crap this year so I've got the room for a speculative add.

Let's gogogo Jabari!

not as sexy but this justin miller guy on washington has allowed 1 hit and no walks while striking out 17 in his first 9 innings.

Miggy done for year with ruptured tendon in Biceps, Hicks should get full playing time again between 1B/C

Honestly relieved about that. He was just kind of sitting on my bench as a mediocre option in 10 team roto. Clearly past his prime but hard for me to drop with his obp and name value . In other news my roto team is in a weird spot where I have gotten embarsssingly little production at 2b and SS with semien and odor . Shortstop thankfully I picked up Andrus and stashed him when he got injured and dropped but 2nd is an absolute cesspool the best option on waiver wire is literally Dietrich even in this 10 teamer. I thought odor would at least give some bulk homers and steals but he is clearly hopeless with like a 60 wrc+ over his last 850 at bats or whatever.

Do you guys think either Hoskins or Jose Martinez is a fair offer for Daniel Murphy? He has Albies so my thinking is that I expect j mart and Murphy to put up similar numbers in utility spot except Murphy is 33 and apparently hobbled as hell and not looking very healthy but I kind of have to gamble because his upside is so much higher than any of my 2b options whereas he should be happy to take the much higher floor/lack of injury risk for similar production. I’m sitting in 7th and not particularly close to first at all and need homers rbis and total bases . Lots of players with multi position eligibility so would replace Martinez or Hoskins with a sort of Greg Bird/Max Muncy pseudo platoon with whoever is facing the ****tier righty. Is that a fair trade or am I underrating Murphy ? Jose Martinez has 7th highest WRC+ over last year in majors and I’m a big fan but I realize my opinion matters less than the potential trade partner. He wants j mart over Hoskins fwiw but is still thinking it over. 6x6 with runs rbis hrs tbs sb obp so really values mashers who can take walks

Muncy playing second last night and hopefully gaining eligibility on yahoo would be a life saver. Other than his unsustainable hr/fb rate all the underlying metrics look pretty freaking great unless I’m missing something

Alen Hanson is 2B/OF eligible on ESPN, he doesn't have an everyday gig locked down but I think he has potential

liked him a lot earlier when he had playing time too. The Longoria injury might just give him playing time again

Sano just sent down to Single A.

Safe to drop in a 12 team standard league?

Thanks for this. Even if Hicks performs anywhere near replacement level for a 1B, he'll be a massive upgrade over a replacement catcher.

Ughhhh in the Giant's radio pregame show yesterday Bochy said "Pablo will get most of the playing time with Longo out, and Hanson should get some starts too"

wtf COME ON Boch! Pablo is hot trash and barely get his glove to touch the ground

Edit-
However Hanson did start at 3B yesterday vs the lefty Wood (and batted 9th after Bum lol), but Pablo hits LHP pitching waaaay better so maybe Bochy was just playing the L/R matchup...

So to clarify, basically I didn't help anyone with this post!

Yeah, I think it'll be a platoon, but he'll also be able to get a start here and there at various infield positions.

Also this: https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/spor...485745471.html

It's clear they know how good he's been and that they need to get him in more, which is very promising
