I didn't have room for him on my DL so yeah I cut him loose

Depending on the depth of your league... any time I'm wondering if it's time to drop somebody, I'm usually best off cutting bait and finding a replacement anyway

I'm sure he'll turn it around at some point, but I can't afford to carry him for 2 weeks while he heals AND wait for him to snap out of it at the plate.

I started him.

Also starting Romero today.

I drafted all of Archer, Stroman, Cueto, Taillon, Wacha in what has been an utter disaster of a rotation, so I've now got Romero, Soroka, Lucchesi, Gohara, Reyes, and Kingham all on staff. It's gonna be a rough year.

It's the first year of a keeper league so that affects strategy somewhat.

Edit to add: thoughts on Caleb Smith? lol.

Guy just offered me Haniger and Nate Jones for Charlie Morton and Vizcaino, who I picked up off waivers last week. I am very strong in SP and very weak in HR. Am I crazy or this doable? Haniger might be a flash in the pan, but Morton is an injury risk...

I am 100% on board with Haniger. Everything about his line seems legit and the improvements are sustainable. Really just an extension of his pre-injury 2017.
If you need a bat, that's a fantastic deal for you.

Mets manager Mickey Callaway said Thursday that he expects Jacob deGrom (elbow) to make his next start Monday against the Reds.

Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reported Thursday morning that deGrom would miss at least four starts with a hyperextended right elbow, but it sounds like that was inaccurate. The 29-year-old right-hander is planning to throw Friday and there should be something more official after that workout. He injured the elbow on a swing Wednesday night against the Braves. An MRI showed no structural damage.
