9.3 Cole Hamels SP-TEX

Need a 2nd SP, Hamels is solid if not unspectacular, but the Wins potential pitching in Texas makes up for it some. Not thrilled about this pick but he's the best SP available and I don't really like my options with bats at this time.

C Gary Sanchez
1B Edwin Encarnacion
2B Jose Altuve
3B Kyle Seager
OF Starling Marte
UTIL Chris Davis

SP Jake Arrieta

9.5 Hanley Ramirez

If he can put together a season like last year he's a steal right here. The lineup is there he's just gotta stay healthy

You would have to steal him off of Jim because he took him in the 6th round

9.6. Kelvin Herrera.

I consider him the last of his tier of closers (Giles isn't as reliable and has really capable replacements around him, Colome has mid-season trade potential, Famillia's suspension looms). His K/9 isn't up there with Kimbrel's and Diaz's, but it's still solid and everything else is pristine.

2B: Roughned Odor

9.7 Jose Peraza

Probably a bit of a stretch with an ADP of 120. Love the speed and average possibilities. I'm hopping on the hype train.

Damn, I was hoping Peraza was going to make it back to me - he wasn't even close to doing that! Really think he is going to dominate this year.

9.8 Ken Giles

I need a closer. I love the 14k/9 but I am a bit worried about how many good arms they have in that bullpen.

Should I be more excited by Peraza? I see an unsustainable BABIP and an uncertain batting order slot (he, Hamilton and Cozart haven't played together all spring) on a shitty team that could result in anaemic R/RBI totals.

9.9 Alex Colome

Since becoming a RP in mid-2015, he has a 2.12 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 10.15 K/9.

Also, got sniped on the 5 closers I wanted more in the last round.

Reds are def gonna score runs. It's the stopping the other team from scoring runs that they have trouble with.

Ya I mean I see the appeal on the surface with peraza but I just don't buy him at all. He's simply not a .300 hitter and will have a **** OBP

The top of the order, sure, but if he's batting 8th he's not going to be what fantasy players are hoping.

I expect peraza to be hitting leadoff or 2nd for the Reds once the season gets going. He's been crushing this spring. Either Hamilton hits well and he gets slotted between Hamilton and Votto or Hamilton sucks and he hits leadoff in front of Votto or cozart

Ya, on my phone and haven't verified, but I thought Peraza was high AVG and OBP hitter all through minors as a top prospect. Only 22? so I would expect some growing pains, but seems pretty solid, especially now with Phillips gone.

Hi avg and he probably steals 35-40 bases on avg, 30sb is his floor for 600PA imo

he doesn't walk ever, he has no power, just a slight reduction in his .361 BABIP last year even with his strikeouts not rising will slaughter his output

his ceiling seems to be 2013 elvis andrus

don't get me wrong, a hitter like peraza CAN get a .361 BABIP over a full season, especially with the likely pitches he'll see hitting in front of votto, but he has to do that in order to be worth this pick

9.10 Eric Thames UT

I'm going to take a bit of a flyer on Thames. If he can get close to the 29/12 like steamer is projecting then that would be huge at this part of the draft.

Love Ramirez. He is in a great spot to repeat his success with the same full time at-bats while playing at least 2 and maybe 3 or 4 positions. Batting 5th still gives him plenty of steal opportunities.
