No It's nothing like this. It's just a keeper league that is h2h. We finally talked the commish into having waivers done by using FAAB instead of the usual worst to first every week. We have always had a rule that each week teams are charged a fee if they lose. It goes into the prize pool that is paid out at the end of the season. The commish wants that rule to continue even though we are switching. He's taking a little heat from a couple of other owners that are saying it's not right to make owners pay for losses now. If they suffer a few injuries and blow through their budget early, they shouldn't get penalized anymore for not being able to pick up good free agents. I've never done a league that uses FAAB so I don't know what the general rule of thumb is for these. I posted to help give both the commish and the owners more info and to help settle their argument.

Keep 4 PPR

last spot to decide is between
Kelvin Benjamin as a 9th
or
Corey Coleman as an 8th

Benjamin seems super underwhelming but Coleman is a Brown with who knows what at QB.
I'm leaning towards Coleman just for pure upside as I think odds are both these have a good chance of just being meh all season.

What do you think?

I generally like the idea of incentives to avoid tanking. If there's going to be a fee for losing, I'd much prefer it be actual $$ instead of coming from a manager's FAAB - if you take away FAAB then you further decrease that manager's chances of being able to pick up decent free agents.

Also if the rationale is to avoid tanking then it makes sense to not institute any such penalties until, say, week 6 (when it's more obvious who the bottom 2-3 teams are).

Maybe I'm explaining it wrong but it's not as complicated as that. The money paid for losing is a separate fee that goes into the pot at the end of the year. No money comes out of a teams bidding budget unless it's used to claim a player. The argument is if teams screw up and blow through their budget plus suffer injuries, is it really fair to still charge a separate loss fee when they would have a tough time improving their team. The old way the worst teams always had the first crack at free agents every week. Now that's not the case.

I'll post a list when I'm done drafting in the new dynasty thread but I would do what you can to get DJ and wait on WR this year. It's so deep at the WR position....DJ and Bell too (but he has added risk) give you two players in one. They are the only two I see pushing 1000 yards receiving "and" rushing.

16 team PPR auction keeper league with IDP. 2RB 2WR/TE Flex. Up to 5 keepers per team at inflated auction prices so rbs will be scarce. Only top 15 rb avaliable is gunna be murray. Were doing a rookie draft for the first time this year.

I'm keeping: Tevin Coleman, Brandin Cooks and 3 IDP.

Who do you guys like end of the first round of the rookie draft? I'm 3 picks away. Ross and kamara still sitting there but likely go before me. So prolly choosing between Perine, Kupp, Samuel, McNichols or one of the Williams'

Notables that can be kept in full(1) ppr 2rb / 3wr / te / flex: Keep up to 2.

DJ: $57
Jordy: $47
D Baldwin: $20
Adrian Peterson: $8

Do I guarantee myself DJ? I think even though prices should be inflated for keepers, the league typically doesn't adjust. The most expensive player in our leagues history was Julio last year at $60.

That's what I initially thought. Have been entertaining Baldwin as a better value play though?

Baldwin/Jordy is close and depends partly on who is being kept league wide, but def keep DJ.

Most top tier guys should be back in the auction this year. I think Michael Thomas will be kept and maybe AJ Green. Julio/AB/OBJ all back up for grabs.

I think the best league manager advice I've ever gotten out of 2+2 was to use doodle.com to help schedule drafts. Big thanks to whoever mentioned it here last year or the year before.

Spoiler:
No, doodle isn't paying me to say this.

in a mock today zeke went 16, which is way too high for a player you can start until 8th week.

Yeah, I initially moved him down to mid-4th round, but seems like he's going in the 2nd. Lol.

How would you guys keep your rankings for the first round now?

Does mccoy become top 3 now? Or do you leave it the way it was and just move everyone one spot up?

i already had mccoy after big 3 rb , anything besides ab/mccoy in 3/4 seems wrong.
julio/obj/ in 5/6 and then its a matter of personal choice imo from which i like the most green and evans

Pick 11+ blows now. Maybe Jordy gets there but then looking at freeman, gordon and Howard to choose from. No ideal 1st rounders.
