Just a bizarre conclusion.

43 catches last year. Now he has been fully integrated into the Rams passing game and will finish top 10 in RB receptions this year. Will be top 5 in catches for backs that also run for 1000 yards

I'd say it's also a lock that Gurley does finish top 5 for backs in PPR, barring injury and all that jazz.

There are only a few backs that get the amount of snaps he gets, and one of them just got out of hospital. One may be suspended again, and the other is Le'Veon Bell.

I would rather have Gordon than him. That being said, he is a top 10 in the Ajayi range IMO. Not enough catching for the majority PPR leagues.
25 touches a game and the majority of goalline looks isn't just "some fortunate situations" though, it's literally his expected usage. reliable heavy usage can make someone a fantasy stud even if they aren't a real life superstar

See Gordon, who on most plays is bad and should feel bad. But dat usage!

No, you are right. The Rams are a historically good high powered offense.

I'll look at the top 10 fantasy running backs from last year.

DJ: 80 receptions
Elliott: 32
Bell: 75
McCoy: 50
Murray: 53
Freeman: 54
Gordon: 41 (not sure how or why you 'rounded up' to 43)
Howard: 29
Ingram: 46
Blount: 7

So congrats, you are closer to Blount than DJ/Bell.

he did the trade for Cooper

of course now I wonder if he would have taken maybe Hill, but I still like the trade

why are you citing melvin gordon's stats to reply to a post about todd gurley?

by what math is 43 closer to 7 than it is to 75?

basically your point is he's not going to replicate david johnson from last season? ok, conceded

What a bizarre argument. Also not sure why you're citing stats from last year when the entire coaching staff has been replaced, the offensive line has improved, and they look far better overall, albeit against pretty crappy defenses

yeah. the statement was top 5 in catches for backs that run for 1000

last year top 5 catches for 1k backs were

DJ 80
Bell 75
Freeman 54
Murray 53
Mccoy 50

and gurley's on pace for 69 this year. if he falls off some and averages just 3 catches a game going forward he still breaks 50 and will finish in the same ballpark as every other top RB besides bell. so "not enough catching" is just factually wrong

The whole Gurley thing started with that his schedule going forward is terrible and is he a smart sell high?

Given the stats and his usage shown here I think I'm buying regardless of his schedule but probably not at his current price.

trade talk really doesn't do much without knowing whats on the table. "sell high" is good for anyone.

I have him and wouldn't snap accept any wr trade besides antonio brown in non-ppr. of course one reason for that is I drafted the rest of my team while having an rb1 instead of wr1 and don't really have reliable rbs to replace him, so that doesnt mean Id take him higher than the top wr in a redraft

As a Gurly owner in one league and a believer in him during preseason, I've been back and forth a lot over the last couple weeks on him. I tried to buy him after week 1 in one league. I tried to sell him after week 2 in another. My opinion of where he was in both instances were very different than others in the leagues though.

If I could get AJ Green for Gurly I'd do it. I wouldn't do Dez. I'd consider Hopkins heavily and am unsure which I'd choose.

I would not go near Hopkins at all. Gurley's efficiency can't go anywhere but up. Even if its the same, he's getting alot of TDs and catches.

Hopkins situation looks like the same thing as last year.

Man I disagree with both of those completely. Of course Gurley's efficiency can go down, he's already had his three best matchups of the year outside of the Saints in week 11.

Only two games in but Hopkins has had 13 and 16 targets in those. He averaged a touch over 9 targets a game last year, and I'm not sold on Watson but at least he's better than Osweiler. I'm not trading Gurley for him though

Hopkins targets/catches are better than I thought. Still not catching most of his targets, and they're from a bad passer.

Garbage offense though, Rams look like they're much improved - still not making the deal.

any other Miller owners out there? when are you picking up Foreman? I feel like now is the time, before they split 50-50 on Sunday, but I would have to drop the Houston D (I have JAX too, my 12 team league already has 18 defenses rostered)

I'd do it now, don't like holding 2 Ds unless 20+ are rostered

Miller owner, if I had space I'd grab Foreman but I'd have to drop DJax/Coleman/Henry to do it. Would definitely drop a defense for him

Yea I definitely want to be holding that Houston D on my roster this weekend. Oh and they play the Chiefs soon too? Yea sign me up for that...

If it's the Coleman who broke his hand I would drop him for Foreman
