David Johnson

I've been offered Leveon Bell for AB/Jordy
So pick 1 team
Team 1:
DJ
Lev Bell
A-aron
Delanie
Dez

Or
Team 2:
DJ
AB
A-aron
Dez
Jordy

Thanks!
Team 1. WR's are way deeper than RB's. Dez/Jordy could easily fall off (as well as delanie obvi). You have the #1 and #2 picks with team one along with the #1 QB. I'm sure you can find someone off ww to get as a TE replacement or just stream.

Going to post our draft as i enjoyed looking at these last season.

8 person league of friends for only a small amount of money but mainly bragging rights and part of our 3 sport league including BPL and Super Rugby.

PPR - 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, flex (RB/WR/TE), K, DEF

First 2 players are keepers.

Who wins? Who loses? Dark horse team?

#6 appears to be only team that understands you don't need a TE. They win.

Can't say that I really have an eye for evaluating 8-team leagues, but my initial reaction is that team 4 (AJG, Jimmy G, Brady) would be at the bottom of my list.

(Also I'm assuming you meant to include the TE as a required starter: "PPR - 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, flex (RB/WR/TE), K, DEF")

Yep I did.

How do you all handle keeping dynasty members from leaving? I'm starting a new league and I've gotten push back on the idea of paying 1 year buy-in in advance. So essentially I was asking people to give me $200 the first year and $100 each year after that right before the draft.

Is there a standard way to discourage people from leaving if they have a ****ty team?

drafting the entire steelers offense honestly doesn't seem like a bad idea

Did they get 16 home games this year?

Obviously can't do that in a 12 team league. But with 3rd pick (ppr) it is very feasible to do something like 1.) Brown 2.) Gronk or WR2 3.) WR2 or Kelce/Reed 4.) Bryant. Pick up one more WR 5th round (crowder, snead, monecrief). Draft RBS 6-9th.
get Ben in the 10th round and stack him with someone like Stafford, Dalton, Taylor, or even Palmer.
I would personally love this. Week 9 is pretty much lost completely but you have more than half a season to WW and/or trade to make up for at least half of the spots gone.

I think everyone underestimates the circumstances Ben has had with his offense the last few years. There has only been one ten game stretch where Ben had his entire offense on the field with him. Look at the numbers in 2015 of those 10 weeks.
Now figure that their o-line is way better than it was in 2015. They could potentially break records this year.
I would pick up another QB (like i would usually do anyway) with the intention of playing it safe with certain away games; the only difference is drafting a 2nd QB maybe one round higher than I would in other situations.

mostly in league settings. make it interesting for teams to get better draft orders, shorter benches, etc.

football can turn around really quickly from a first place to last place team, and vice versa, so just keeping the turnaround of players fast

you could also do something like, set the league for a 5 year plan (if youre all buddies) and like, keep score of points year to year and have an overall 5 year champ as well, which would discourage tanking (sort of).

but pretty standard to collect a year ahead fee wise imo

This.

If your buddies are giving you pushback, then they're not ready for a dynasty league. Or you can simply lower the buy-in.

Short benches makes it hard to stay on top for long which is important for the longevity of any dynasty league.

Thank you everyone for the feedback on the buy-in situation.

I am leaning towards a huge starting line-up: 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 3 RB/WR/TE & 1DEF w/ 7 bench spots. Then everyone must keep exactly 11 (or exactly 12) each year. The idea of a deep starting line-up is that it de-values studs and values depth more, IMO.

I am doing an auction draft. I was also flirting with the idea of giving non-playoff teams extra money for the draft based on standings & loser playoff finish (if everyone starts the draft w/ $500 then we would give away an extra $500 between the 6 non-playoff teams). This, I hope, will help out the teams that suck in the rookie/free agent draft.

The 2017 schedule says that the only chance PIT has of losing 34-3 in a non-home-game to the Eagles again this year is if it's in the Super Bowl

One of them suggested we only do half the $100 buy-in upfront or we do the full $100 but we put the $1,200 in a mutual or index fund then when the league disbands we split the proceeds.

bringing up a rookie draft question, slightly different than it was before:

dynasty league, PPR, 3WR/2RB setup with deep benches

current lineup:

rb - gillislee, gore, woodhead, k dixon, burkhead, smallwood
wr - cooks, j matthews, m mitchell, d jax, t gabriel, garcon, t benjamin

(as a side note, its been a weird off season seeing half my team go to NE, woodhead go to BAL and then dixon get suspended)

in the upcoming rookie draft i have the 1st and 5th picks

so, how do i go in the draft?

im thinnest at RB (for dynasty, i think), so a fournette + cook/mixon combo makes sense. at 5 im definitely grabbing mixon/cook and not m williams. so at 1 does that make davis > fournette even given that? or just take davis #1 and not think too much.

You're in pretty bad shape with that team. If you think Davis is that good and the other RB's are closer than I can see the logic but getting Fournette/Cook is going to help your team also.
You're in a good position with those picks but really need to hit in rd's 2-4.

yeah i have no illusions about the team competing this year, so do also wanna plan enough for the future. fwiw, my actual goals are to keep the team in the 5-8 spots (12 team, 4 make the playoffs, and 5-8 play in the conso bracket for the #1 overall pick), so it just needs to be a mid range team, its never gonna be top 4.

Tyreek Hill is going to blow up this year. I got him finishing as a top 10 WR in PPR and he has #1 WR in all of FF potential. Word out of KC is they are going to feature him more. He is amazing in space and wins contested catches like a big WR. Pepper in the 30-40 rushes he's going to get and you are looking at a huge return on his ADP right now.

Agree he will outperform his current adp but let's not get carried away. Teams will focus on him this year and he struggled with double teams last season.
