First three ended up being DJ, Leveon and Brown, so I took Rodgers. Brady and Brees also went in the first. Then no QBs, so I took Matt Ryan in the 2nd. I don't think they really adjusted to the QB values. Anyway, happy with my team, took Michael Thomas in the 3rd, then Alshon in the 4th (almost took Kareem Hunt, but I thought he would get back to me as the teams behind me all had 2 RBs, but he didn't), so I took Demaryius. Golden Tate was still available and he seemed like too good of a value, so I took him in the 6th, then just threw a bunch of crap on the wall at RB. There was a weird run on TEs, so I just waited for my last pick, expecting to get Hooper or Witten but someone took them as a backup. Ended up with:

Kirk is going to be a top 5 (eh, maybe top 7) QB this season. How he and Ben Rape are falling in drafts this year is still somewhat baffling to me.

You have to remember how many fantasy players are just casual fans.

Everyone with Ben is buying into the struggles on the road narrative. Every time he gets drafted there is a chorus of, "Who will you start when he is on the road???"

Cousins I think has more to do with him not being listed as an "elite" QB. Wasn't a high draft pick, team keeps jerking him around etc.

Have my first 2 real drafts this afternoon and evening. Did about 5 or 6 yahoo mocks. A few quick questions.

I got Gronk in 3rd round every time. Is this a leak on my part? Seems like great value to me since I don't love the other guys in that area.

I always wait on QB and this year it seems like you can wait even longer (like 10th round) and am happy with choices there.

Who do you like mid/late round RB for ppr? Guys I seem to be targeting are Woodhead, Powell, Riddick, Duke Johnson. Any real bargains after say round 8?

Who do you like as last 3 round flyer?

What defenses are you targeting early as a streamer? I am leaning Rams and Carolina for first week.

Been targeting steelers/bills for D, rams look good too. Don't think car vs SF is as good as it sounds.

I like Coleman a lot for mid ppr rb, think prosise is a good flyer for ppr rb.

Fournette, Hyde, Lynch, and Rodgers would all be really bad picks at the 2-3 turn imo.

Got him for a good price. Enjoy that WR2 with top 5 upside.

Lot of news out this morning:
- ESPN said a court ruled to put Zeke's suspension on hold but the story now deleted
- Snead suspended first three games of season
- Bryant cleared with full reinstatement
- And less exciting or relevant is Kearse traded to Jets

Hope some if you bought some Ginn stock. NO #2 WR does pretty well......

Wasn't he already the WR2 though and Snead was in the slot? I guess it frees up some targets so can't be a bad thing for Ginn, but don't think it changes his outlook that much. He's gonna be running the same routes he was running and they are nothing like the routes Snead would've been running unless I'm misinformed about the NO passing game.

Any Cooper Kupp fans here? I heard a couple people talking him up on sirius - he does have a big jump in the rankings recently at FBGs, but still like WR100 to WR75. All depends on Goff I guess.

Anybody in dynasty leagues should try to acquire Evan Engram if they can. The tape looks yummy. The usage is especially encouraging. They are lining him up everywhere. I missed out on him in both dynasty leagues so i thought i'd share.......go get him he's undervalued......

Not a huge ceiling but he's a great prospect. I'm high on him.....

It just gives him a nice bump in targets.....no he's not running any of Sneads routes but Brees will look his way just that much more.......

Alright so I'm having an initial draft for a 12 team dynasty league on sunday and wanted to talk general strategy.

QB/2RB/2WR/TE/K/FLEX plus IDP:1 each of DL/LB/DBs and 11 bench

We can keep as many players as we want

I'm probably not going to play for this year-I'm guessing that nobody else will alter their strategy much from a typical draft, so what I'm thinking is to just not draft any defensive players or kicker. I'm figuring that with only 1 starting defensive spot for each position, that in the future I'll just stream each of those spots. Even if every other player took 2 of each position, that's only 22 and there's going to be loads on the waiver wire. I can use those spots to add 3 rookie RBs/WR/QB

Also figuring just load up on young WRs, but that seems like a typical dynasty draft strategy.

Punting the first year of a dynasty league seems like you're just lighting money on fire to me. Don't think the EV you gain from rostering 3 or 4 extra lottery ticket position players is gonna make up for the EV you are losing by leaving 3 or 4 starting roster spots empty all year at any point in the future not to mention having the worst IDP's for a while (which I agree isn't a huge deal, but certainly makes some difference I'd imagine).

No imo. Anderson is garbage. Who are your RBs?
