starting 3 outfielders 10 team league obp/hr/r/tb/rbi/s. very rarely start one in my 2 utility spots because i have votto/goldy/hanley (sometimes sit hanley if bad matchup tho i think he will turn it around)

i have bellinger, conforto, ozuna, g. polanco, pollock and schebler. would you guys trade bellinger or any of the first 3 for trout? currently in 1st place in league/leading in every offensive category except 2nd in tb and seem like a good bet to make playoffs. i saw brad johnson on fangraphs today say he would probably trade a justin upton or michael brantley type for trout at this point but not really sure how high to go. i was glad he said that because i was about to offer a lot more frankly which may be stupid given he might not be the same player when he comes back after ASB. guy with trout is in last place and his team is pretty much **** tbh he might just not even be paying attn anymore really

Probably, not sure Schebler is that great in OBP and is marginal for you. Just remember, torn UCL's drain power when they come back, I've posted about this before. He is Trout and could be someone so good he breaks the standard, but be warned.

Severino the real deal?

Yep

Ditto for lamet. If not for a 12 pitch AB to zobrist and 11 to Jay he could be going deep with yuge numbers. 98 + swing and miss stuff

There's a lot to like. 50%+ GB, ERA in line with FIP/xFIP, over a strikeout an inning. As long as he keeps the ball in the yard (which can be a prob in NY) he's gonna be fine IMO

Good luck trying to acquire with the current state of pitching

Eduardo Rodriguez has quietly been pretty amazing. Hes done basically exactly the same thing Severino has done, but nobody seems to notice.

Rodriguez

Severino slightly better, but biggest differences are that ERod has walked a few more batters and Severino has given up more HRs. BABIP are identical (.267 vs .268) but Severino has an unusually high HR/FB of 17%. I would expect that to regress towards league average near 10% going forward.

Severino - A RHP in Yankee Stadium? Not the largest sample in the world (about 100 IP) but its over 20% at home in his career. I wouldn't hold my breath there. Anything remotely close to 1 HR/9 would be a huge win

Agree on ERod points

Good point about his home park being Yankee Stadium.
And now that I look, his HR/FB rate is identical to last years, so he might just be a guy who gives up lots of homers but remains effective by striking guys out and not allowing many baserunners

rodriguez has been sensational but he's also been running really well. i would take severino over him ROS with zero hesitation and sell rodriguez if i could

severino has a 1.45 HR/9 at yankee stadium and 0.75 away and an era difference of 1.5. it's not as if that hasn't been accounted for him thus far this season

I think Severino is going to have higher than average home run rates. He's basically Pineda with better command, and his slider is just as amazing when it breaks, but it has a tendency to just spin up in the zone a few times a game. He's cut his change up usage down, which could become a problem as he goes through the league again.

I picked him up for his last start and it set me back like 3 weeks of positive work in ERA and WHIP. Clearly even the Padres are on an entirely different level form the Mariners right now

i feel like in baseball the difference between the pitchers you need to pick up in 10 and 14 are way different

I just got an offer in a keeper league where I need to shed a hitter.

I give bour and get sevirino, thoughts?

In a YPL with Braun/Haniger/Walker/Taillon/MadBum on DL, Polanco/Stanton hurt, Harper suspended. If Polanco/Stanton stay hurt, down 2 active hitters.
Should I drop Haniger for a bat? OF's in total are Harper, Stanton, Braun, Polanco, Desmond, Domingo Santana.
(Also have Nunez, and might get Villar for SS from waivers tonight. Could theoretically use the waiver and drop Haniger instead, since Nunez has OF eligibility)

tl;dr: Drop Haniger for hitter?
