Might want to drop Melky instead, but Alonso needs to be on your team now. Is that a 16 team league or is your pitching just stacked?

12-team NL-only keeper league with OBP instead of AVG. 5 keepers. Keepers inflate 20% every year ($4 minimum). Would you rather have:

Cody Bellinger ($3)
Kenta Maeda (won't be kept)

or

Jacob deGrom ($14)
Chris Owings (won't be kept)

You better just pick someone to drop and grab Alonso before he is gone.

Tough one, depends on how much you trust bellinger and how much you need pitching

People still not rostering Alonso smh.

Bellinger ESPN update - 1 more start at OF needed. Should be quick with toles out for the season. Then I don't have to decide between him and AlonsGOAT each day

Then do it, we know what degrom is. SP1, won't be super expensive next few years

So since we now need to discuss LoMo's last call, man, I think I buy it

He has shown power upside at multiple stages early in his career, he's hitting the ball harder than he ever has, is demonstrating both improved discipline and better contact. It might not be unreasonable for him to be brad miller 2.0

The problem with picking him up is by now there have just been so many seeming must adds that who's left to drop. Also because he's only 1b eligible and is very likely to be a best case scenario good homer good RBI **** average kind of guy it's unlikely he's usable trade bait and you have to ride him out for the duration. And especially if you snagged Alonso it's not likely you have a spot for him anyway

Still, he seems too good to just leave on waivers, especially with him claiming cleanup (st least against RHP)

That's why I need Bellingoat to get OF elig, i always bench the wrong guy between him and Alonso. On the upside they are both accruing trade value so maybe I can flip them for a pitcher or pair with another hitter for a hitting upgrade

just out of curiosity, why can't you do this yourself?

domingo santana's time looks like it's coming soon

i want to pick him back up but there are so many other fish to fry and it doesn't look like he's on anyone's radar yet

admittedly i have no idea what their ETAs are but the 2 rookies i've got an eye on that i'm going to snap pickup if there's even a rumbling of them getting called up are hoskins and fisher

neither are particularly hugely valued prospects by all accounts which means there could be a greater willingness to call them up to see what there is in them. hoskins is absolutely annihilating right now, his k and bb numbers are incredibly enticing in terms of what they likely translate to, joseph blows and the phillies aren't terrible. i guess it largely depends on how patient they're going to be with joseph

fisher seems springeresque, obviously what works against him is a logjam in the OF but what works for him is that besides springer it's all pretty terrible

man the optics are really really bad

hard hit way down soft hit way up, went from 1.05 GB/FB to 2.10

the thing is his season so far is actually fairly consistent with his first 2 years so maybe the first half of last year was the anomaly and this is what he actually is? i wouldn't drop him yet but man this is really ugly

am i an idiot for being slightly concerned about Trea Turner? Looked like the best player in baseball at Coors and now looks.... blah. I didn't draft him to be a slugging machine, but I was kind of hoping for Billy Hamilton with a good OBP and more counting stats. He certainly is not looking like a 0.360 OBP player. Not really much of a track record either. Was last year an aberration?

There aren't many great SS as is anyway so I'll be rolling him out regardless barring injury, but ofc i'm hoping he can produce top 20 bat numbers

Not at all. Was down on him big time going into this year and think what we are seeing now is to be expected. Pitchers didn't have time to adjust to him last season and you can't take someone on the turn who's had ~250 major league ABs.

That being said he still has value, "should" get 50 steals and not kill avg and score some runs but I couldn't fathom people taking him as high as he was going in drafts

I mean in roto 50 steals + good AVG/OBP is a killer combination, especially if you don't have deep rosters. You can stack other slots with sluggers that don't necessarily steal bases. At least.. that was how I rationalized the pick. I wasn't really high on him or down on him at the time. I would never grab a player like him in H2H
