mutigers,

In H2H you dont need a backup for your MI. In roto having bench hitters is a little more important in order to max out games played, but a guy like Miller isn't worth trading for in standard shallow roster leagues.

I would never trade a pitcher as good as Quintana for a backup anyway. In a 10 team league there are surely MI options pretty close to Miller on the wire... guys like Crawford, Tim Beckham, Panik, etc.

And Maeda has sucked so far, but Id rather hold and hope for improvement than give him a away for a replacement level bench bat

In retrospect, the play once I decided the non-Kershaw top SP tiers was full of landmines was not to load up on the two least likely landmines. It was to just ignore them all and find pitching elsewhere.

Mistakes have been made.

What do we feel about Triggs? Had an 8.79 k/9 in 2016 in 50+ innings, its 6.75 so far in 30. BABIP is like 230 though. xfip is 3.95. LD% is only 12.8% and Hard Hit is 24% though.

We buying or selling? If buying, what type of bats are we buying for?

Also curious about thoughts on Greinke moving forward. K's are high and with the Humidor in Arizona coming it would help the ballpark. He was so good with LA and just had one off year in Arizona. xfip is currently 3.24. If we believe, what type of bats are we willing to give for him.

thoughts on pitchers:

1. sell sell sell bundy for sure
2. nobody's trading for triggs
3. i think any dbacks pitcher is a good buy low heading into the humidor era
4. duffy's velocity drop is pretty troubling. the whole reason for his being last year was the increase that's now completely gone. the saving grace is that the hard hit % is down but it almost seems unsustainably down at this rate. i don't know, this is back to back horrible starts so i doubt you can get any value out of him now so i'm probably praying his next start is a good one and cutting bait then
5. arrieta is the guy that really confuses me. i remember GTB saying pitch velocity is being tracked differently and i guess it's possible pitch type is being tracked differently too but the data that's posted is just baffling. his velocity is down across the board, his strikeouts are at a career best so far and his whiff rate is at the highest it's been. SEVEN percent of his pitches are fastballs and 51% are sinkers (career low and career high respectively). his peripherals dictate he's been dominant and unlucky and his worst game he just came off of came against a team he won't face again. my instinct is he's an interesting buy low candidate but i really can't make sense of any of his numbers

Thoughts on a Pineda and Benoit for Teheran and melancon swap? Was just offered this in a Saves and holds league (separate categories) with 5 RP slots. I have colome and kontzler as my only closers and 2 RP/SP guys in my SP slots adding holds so I've been looking for another closer.

Not sure how to value Pineda is what I'm struggling with

Why are we selling Bundy? I really don't want to.

awful peripherals. velocity

to be fair, red sox has struck out the least so far this season. and he's faced them 3 times.

to be fair, red sox offense has sucked

chicken and egg..

Who are good trade targets for Judge at this point?

I have him fairly cheap in my AL only League. I guess the real question is what are the chances this is who he will be or do we expect him to regress to his projections?

Well this definitely isn't a sustainable pace. His HR/FB is over 50% and we can expect it to regress to say 20%, which means instead of 12 homers he'd be sitting at about 5 right now. Extrapolate and perhaps you're looking at 25HR RoS.

His average will also fall, but his HH% is so high I actually don't think it'll collapse into the .220s like ESPN thought.

RoS I think 25/.260 is reasonable. I'd gladly trade him for something that offers significantly more value than that (I own him and Thames, and am thinking about taking one of them to the bank soon for a less volatile asset).

Houston line is -173 / 8.5. Vegas believes in Charlie Morton, and god dammit I do too.

For a guy with that much raw power, 30%+ HR/FB is a real possibility if he keeps squaring up on the ball as well as he has been. I'm not doubting whether balls hit like that will continue to go for homeruns, but it remains to be seen how he handles the inevitable adjustment pitchers make to him, and how long it takes him to correct for that adjustment

like most power hitting rookies, i expect judge to go through a slump over the summer. he also had a bunch of little injuries in the minors, so it also remains to be seen if he can sustain health for a full major league season. in any redrafts, i think hes an amazing sell high candidate, but also im stoked to own him in my dynasty league

You could to be on to something here. I thought Avila was a mirage at first but he's currently 8th in the majors for avg. exit velocity and 5th in the majors for "Barrels per batted ball". So he is really squaring up and making great contact, it isn't like this is all some BABIP fluke

I'm thinking of dealing Judge for Peraza/McCullers. Sound reasonable?

I need speed and MI semi-badly, and I'm destroying power categories (lol Judge, Thames, Duvall, KDavis, Springer, Schebler). Suffering from MadBum, Hill, Richards injuries.

not going to exaggerate bellinger as top 10 or anything, but if hes full time next year between OF/1B, hes gonna be a beast

For sure, I watch every game and he is raking, he's back to his All Star level from a few years ago. Went 2-4 yesterday, with a line drive single off the outfield wall. He's crushing the ball, and if he sees regular playtime, will be worth adding.
