Thanks for the advice, I really like Hanley ramirez because he will be dh all season or 1st base for boston. But your saying to trade my power hitters and focus more on getting some closers and good average hitters who score a lot of runs ?

The problem is you have so little power, you're likely not going to contend in those catergories, taking like 2-3 power bats in first 10 rounds

I'm saying the HR/RBI you get from the guys I named are irrelevent because overall, you're going to have a lesser team in those categories than the vast majority. If you're going to score badly in those categories anyways, you might as well use your assets in them to trade for categories you can thrive in. If you're third worst in HR and RBI now and move to last in each, you only need to make up those four points (assuming your replacements break even on runs/BA), which you'll do with one extra closer. You'll get a lot more for them than that.

Fantasy isn't about having the best players; it's about managing game pieces to optimize points.

This is becoming pretty surreal at this point. Are blisters like concussions or something? More you get the more susceptible you become? Wtf

Read that people think it might be related to such a high CB usage, but unsure (He threw 42% CB last year, 51% in first start)

You just need more stability and less mediocrity. Ignore team affiliation beyond lineup/park strength (re: Yankees). Make some high ceiling plays. All of Colon, Santana, Hellickson, Shaw, Holliday and Cabrera are droppable imo. Pick up Thames immediately. Pick up Kepler, pick up Rodon and stash him on the DL, pick up Bedrosian.

Yeah, that sounds about right. If he has a low-value high average type like Pedroia, try to get him thrown in. Eaton is one of you best potential offensive pickups because he's a runs machine with a good lineup and strong BA.

If you get that trade to happen, try to trade Hanley for Lemahieu. Basically, get Lemahieu.

Just to note, the strategy I'm advocating requires you to take a straight and narrow approach for the rest of the season. Just keep picking up as many R/BA guys as you can. You're no longer trading for hitter quality, but for the guys who emphasize the three stats you're chasing (and pitching, obv). It leaves you with a very shallow pool of desirable players, so isn't the most fun.

4 for 4 on K's tonight for Buxton looking brutal on every one. I don't think this guy is rosterable.

Im about ready to drop Buxton in the one league I own him. I always preach patience, but man, dudes been brutal.
Somehow Kiermaier is still available, and it kinda seems like his expected production would be Buxton's 99th percentile outcome

22. (258) Mitch Haniger (Sea - OF)
23. (271) Ivan Nova (Pit - SP,RP)

HOW did I do for a newbie!?
pros? and cons?
This was fun.

I'd try to do the following:
- Story for Eaton + Jansen. Yelich and Chapman are worth trying as a backup plan (3-way).
- Try trading Contreras, Tomas, Beltran for Hosmer before trading Hanley. Otherwise may have to keep Hanley because 1B is a BA/SB sewer.
- If Hosmer deal goes through, trade Hanley for Lemahieu with a closer upgrade, try to get a middling guy for Treinen or Rodney. If they say no, do Hanley foir Lemmahieu
- Then try to trade any/all of Santana, Lynn and Wainwright for Pedroia.
- Get the best ratios pitcher you can off waivers.
That leaves you looking like this (With KATOH stats):

C- Stephen Vogt -.260/57/1
1B - Eric Hosmer - 278/75/5
2B - Dee Gordon - 278/73/46
3B - Anthony Rendón - .276/76/9
2B-3B-SS - Jonathan Villar - 255/83/49
2B-3B-OF - José Peraza - .282/52/27
OF - Kevin Kiermaier - 261/72/20
OF - Adam Eaton - 288/85/14
2B - DJ LeMauhieu - .308/82/18
2B - Dustin Pedroia - 289/81/6

SP - Clayton Kershaw
SP - Madison Bumgarner
SP - Aarón Sánchez
RP - Kenley Jansen
RP - Zach Britton
P - (Small upgrade on?) Blake Treinen
P - Fernando Rodney
P - Miller/Betances/Kelley (esp if you have Trienen)/Doolittle/Barraclough

B Mitch Hanniger
B more relievers
B Solid SPs vs the Padres, Phils, other poor offenses.
B High ceiling SP
B High ceiling OF

It'll need some help in R/BA, so midseason, trade Villar and Kiermaier for BA/R, SP (assuming the SB race is over).

Basically, you want power. Drop Dyson, Melky, pick up Dahl, put him in the DL slot, pick up Castellanos (> Sano imo) and Bird. Only use non-Kershaw/Scherzer starters against weak offences. be sure to max out your innings, since Kershaw/Scherzer give you a massive ratio lead.

Is that strategy viable in H2H leagues? I'm not in a roto.

I don't see the point of patience with buxton. He's more likely to be demoted than he is moving back up the order. He looks absolutely overwhelmed so far (lol 28% whiff rate) which isn't a good sign for someone who has been terrible at the big league level except for a 29 game stretch where he had a .370 babip and still managed a terrible 33% krate

Enjoying the fantasy team reviews, so I guess i'll post mine. This is a 7x7 league with the standard categories plus OPS and Ks for hitter, Losses (hate this category, but I can't talk the rest of the yahoos out of it) and K:BB for pitchers. 1500 innings cap, 3 DL slots, one n/a slot, two UTIL spots...

1. Jose Altuve, 2B
2. Noah Syndergaard, SP
3. Xander Bogaerts, SS
4. Edwin Encarnacion, 1B
5. Kenley Jansen, RP
6. Chris Archer, SP
7. Adrian Beltre, 3B
8. Johnathan Lucroy, C/1B
9. Andrew Miller, RP
10. Kelvin Herrera, RP
11. David Dahl, OF
12. Zack Greinke, SP
13. Jose Peraza, SS/2B/OF
14. Mark Trumbo, OF
15. Carlos Santana, 1B
16. Jon Gray, SP
17. Kendrys Morales, 1B/OF
18. Jerad Eickhoff, SP
19. Jake Odorizzi, SP
20. Miguel Sano, 3B/OF
21. Garrett Richards, SP
22. Joe Musgrove, SP
23. Victor Martinez, UTIL
24. Ender Inciarte, OF
25. Tom Murphy, C
26. Carlos Rodon, SP
27. Cody Bellinger, 1B

I decided I was going to take Kershaw at #4 if he was there because he absolutely dominates in this format and I was going to pair him with Kenley and Miller. Well that didn't happen and I went with Thor in round two. What I was really battling with was Altuve or Bryce. I graded every hitter based on our categories and Altuve actually scored higher than any hitter in MLB, even Trout and Betts. However, if Harper could make 2015 his routine, he's probably #1 and three years younger. But I went with the safe play and so far he has rewarded me with a slow start and a crazy high strikeout rate. LOL. I was also targeting Jon Gray and Joe Musgrove. They grade out pretty good in our format and would compliment Noah and my elite relievers, especially if I cherry-pick Gray's road starts. I didn't take an OFer until the 10th round and I had two OFers by that time in all my mocks, so that was pretty surprising.

I have Richards, Dahl, and Rodon occupying my 3 DL slots and Xander in my NA slot at the moment. Beltre should be back early next week.

I've dropped Inciarte, Murphy and Bellinger.

I've added Travis Shaw, Carlos Gomez, Gerrado Parra, Grant Dayton, Chris Devenski, Charlie Morton, and Dylan Bundy.

I will be targeting Murphy again as he gets closer to health or I clear up some DL spots. I gambled on Richards and it looks it is not going to pay off. I doubt he will be on my roster much longer.
