In one keeper league I traded away Scherzer before our draft, to get a cheaper JDM and kept Bumgarner instead of releasing him like I planned to had I not dealt Scherzer.
Next day JDM goes down and now Bum. What a trainwreck.
JDM, Dahl, Bum, Richards, Matz and who knows wtf is going on with deGrom

Personally I'm never drafting him as I'd much rather build a team around a guy like arenado or Goldy there. There are always so many pitchers that come out of nowhere in mid/late rounds

I took Kershaw 4th overall in my 14 team roto league and built my offense around Freddie Freeman in the 2nd rd. Seems to be working out well so far!

No, especially in roto. There is a very heavy hitter bias and anti-pitcher sentiment on this board. Take it with a grain of salt. There are way more good/serviceable hitters than there are good/serviceable pitchers. Offense is sexy and pitching is a necessary evil. But just like in real life good pitching beats good hitting.

More than enough pitchers have popped up that you coulda gone hitters 2-10 and still have the best pitching

Your pitching needs 1 anchor and it needs to be an anchor that's a value pick

I think Kershaw's 2016 back issues and the recurring nature of back issues makes taking him in the top six in 2017 a leak, yes. Trout, Mookie, Altuve, Bryant, Arenado and Goldy are each too sure a thing to deviate.

I think Suarez is a pretty good sell high candidate. When Beltre comes back I'll be seeing what I can get.

So I have a Bellagio prop bet of Chris Sale -0.5 wins over MadBum... I can't remember if there was an IP or GS minimum (anyone know?), but... this news doesn't hurt that bet any.

Yes and no

Suarez is a legit hitter. I was on him in preseason last year and was big on him til he tapered off

While I'm struggling to buy into the power the drop in o-swing and whiff rate is interesting to note. The problem is I doubt very seriously the reds don't try to trade him

Also, and I cannot believe I'm saying this, but Heyward is a must add. Looks like his wrist issues are way behind him

It's worth pointing out that Suarez was pretty good last year. Save for a huge slump in May he was consistent every month throughout the season

I'd sell him if I could but he doesn't have the fanfare to get you anything unless you're really lucky. Holding him is the optimal play

In this 10-man 5x5 H2H league I have Seager, Ramirez & Lamb @ 3B. My OF is stacked with Trumbo, Springer, Betts, Blackmon, Haniger & Conforto.

I am looking to upgrade my pitchers and have received interest in my 3B. What type of return in SP should I be looking for Ramirez & Lamb?

Edit: Guy interested has DeGrom, Kluber, Greinke, Wacha, Salazar, Gio Gonzalez, Pomeranz & Kennedy @ SP.

Edit 2: Sorry if this is getting annoying, I dont have much to add for you guys. Always feel like I'm leeching info.

Yeah, I love picking up people coming off of poor seasons due to wrist injuries. I was extremely high on Ozuna coming into this year. He was having a wonderful year last year prior to injuring his wrist and falling off of a cliff, but those types of injuries don't really have lingering effects in following years. Heyward is another one that I targeted a bunch in the dregs of the draft.

Of course, Mad Bum is my most owned pitcher so lol
