I appreciate the input, but I'm not sure I'm any closer to an answer.

It sounds like I should go Benjamin, Moncrief, and Duke or Hightower if KC and GB are in bad rain.

If Benjamin doesn't play and both games are rainy, what do I do?

If the weather and the injury reports are all clear, what do I do? (My current lineup is set Maclin / Benjamin / Cobb for this.)

If weather and injuries are all clear you have it right. I like Maclin/Benjamin, and I just liked Hightower for the off chance of him being really used like a feature back in one of the best O's in the league.

If Benjamin doesn't play I go Moncrief over him. If it's pooring Rain and both games then it's Moncrief + Cobb for me. Packers run O is so bad they gotta involve Cobb. But the Chiefs can really run their way through 4 Q's to beat San Diego, and Maclin could lay a full egg.

I have no scenario where it's Woodhead. Duke Johnson is an unknown for me. Admit to not following him enough.

If New Orleans was at home I'd be more inclined to use Hightower because I think he'll get the goal-line carries, if nothing else. I'm not so confident in their ability to score points on the road. Jahri Evans is out as well, which will hurt the run blocking.

Duke would be much better in a PPR league, but he is a very good pass-catching back against a team that is poor at defending those, in a game that should be close enough to warrant continuing to throw to him. He's a high-variance play, but I may need one of those.

I feel like every option I can choose carries substantial downside, and I have to choose three of them anyway.

In your spot though you mentioned you were a dog, right? I really don't mind the downside scenarios when I'm a dog. Like Ginn vs NO, the guy is all downside if you look hard enough at it (and that week he did his thing). But like DJax you play him for the bombs. Benjamin, Moncrief and Maclin all strike me as 5 or 18 type guys. As a dog I'm fine with that, and never tend to regret the wrong decisions.

Where I get my regrets are dudes I'm both playing for some safe floor and I flip the coin wrong. God that pisses me off.

This raises another question: I plugged in San Francisco's defense this week. Is it stupid to play SF D/ST alongside Benjamin and Duke? Or is it one of those things that doesn't matter too much?

The best waiver-wire option is either Chicago or Tampa Bay.

Ha, yeah, my problem is that ALL my guys fit that description to some degree or another. Figuring out which one is most likely to go off is the hard part.

If we're really going nuts, I was starting Matt Stafford @ STL, but am now also considering Manziel v SF.

I wouldn't play SF D and two pass-oriented Browns because there's a viable scenario that CLE tries to pound with Crowell, and Gabbert reverts to doing Gabbert things, in which case you're screwed both ways. I like Bears better anyway.

I would play Maclin rain or shine. He's in a groove, I think they'll try to keep him happy, maybe has a chip vs. Verrett from the last game. Coob and Benjamin are probably the next two and anything else might be over thinking it. Duke has been more a McCown target than a JFF target.

A JFF/Benjamin stack is probably okay if you need upside. Can't see that STL/DET game getting into shootout mode.

Yeah it would take really bad rain for me to sit Mac. Like coming down in sheets.

SF defense isn't a good stream?

So the rumors are that Gronk is going to play limited snaps in the night game. Is he better than these options anyway in a PPR league...

Watson @ TB
Barnidge vs SF
Ginn vs ATL
J. Jones vs DAL

Probably the least option I'd go actually.

great, gronk is travelling, do i:

- start watson @ tampa in the early game
- drop watson for either cameron vs giants or tye @ dolphins, and start them if gronk is inactive?

It's Yeldon or Ivory. Yeldon first for me.

Watson is an ok option. I dunno, feel like Gronk will be in for 10 snaps or something. I don't see myself playing him even if he does go. He could just as easily test it out in game speed and get reinjured. I don't see how he goes 8/80 or something.

Win to get in, .5 PPR and need a TE since I'm not going to start Gronk:

Watson vs TB
Tamme @ Car (Josh Normal on Julio means more dump offs to Tamme?)
Tye @ Mia

With the rain in GB, would I be crazy to go with Jameis against the Saints over Rodgers? 6 pt TDs, and I'm a dog in my matchup if it matters.

Need 2 flex and 1 rb plays .5 ppr
Blount vs hou
White vs hou
Tate vs stl
Ware vs sd
Hightower vs tb
Powell vs ten
Funchess vs atl

Plan for now was white at rb, tate and ware at flex. Any other thoughts

This is super tight but I think Jameis has a better chance of a huge game.

Standard scoring, need to pick 2 of (yes I have terrible RBs):

Charles Sims vs NO
Juwan Thompson vs Oak
Duke Johnson vs SF

I sit thompson. Out of those 3 most likely to do nothing. Don't think he has the upside either

I'd go Sims and Thompson barring any news about CJ Anderson getting work.
