Cash LU got 381.5
Best GPP team 498.50

Time to get looking for this puerto rican open?!
I had a good week in GPP

Had 3 lineups in the Birdie / Hybrid

Best was 552.50 which was good for 64th in the Birdie and 23rd in the Hybrid. I was top 20 / Top 10 until the leaders went off at 2...needed under par rounds from Rose and Sullivan but it was a good sweat.

Also had 325th,13,243 in birdie (528) and 112th/5775th (438.50) in hybrid.

Cash team was weak at 344 thanks to some missed cuts. Narrative street with Saunders and trusting anything I read on twitter (Wilcox, lol) lead me astray there.

Already working on my core set for Augusta...some nice value to be had there.

Good luck to all this week - should be a fun tournament to research with a lot of lesser known players in the field.

I somehow tripled up with 5/6 making the cut. Am I really going to play the Puerto Rican Open this week?

Lol we all know the answer to this question. Although I wont be playing nearly the volume I usually do, Ill have some gpp lineups just to have a little sweat.

Kaufmans ownership will be sky high at that price.

Yeah, I know I will. But I might just play some cut monsters in a millionaire sat or two

Hopefully all the experts pump him up as well...the higher his ownership the better.

In a situation like this, where most of the sharper players know that Kaufman will be highly owned...

A lot of the better DFS players will dodge him in GPPs to avoid the high % ownership
He will still be highly owned by not so good DFS players
If a good player takes him and outperforms the bad players on the other 5 slots, he can win the money?
i.e. a second derivative contrarian play?

See Matt Every @ Bay Hill...fading Kaufman at Augusta isn't contrarian only because he will be way over-owned by the public.

You can play him in H2H cash at Augusta if you want to have some more roster flexibility, but in GPP rostering him will drastically cap your upside vs the field.

There are some guys with course history...no reason to try and max out salary this week.

One guy near the top end of the salaries I like is Freddie Jac.

I expect DeLaet, Rodgers, Finau to be on the higher end of the ownership scale.

It looks like the field this year will come in a 87-89 players (88 right now with Tiger still a ?) and the only way to get in being by getting into the top 50 this week (seems unlikely anyone else qualifies this way) or to win the WGC which is populated by already qualified players for the most part (I assume the Puerto Rico is considered opposite field).

Then you've got to expect maybe 3 of Langer, Lyle, Mize, and O'Meara will miss the cut. Add in 4 probable missed cuts from 6 amateurs and you're only at maybe 81 guys left who can make the cut.

Cut is top 50 and ties so still getting rid of ~65% of the viable field UNLESS the 10 shot rule comes into play in which case we could see as many as maybe 60 or 62 out of 85 viable players getting in if no one gets out in front.

With the cut excluding so few players I think its probably worth going down the ladder a little further than usual to get an extra big name in OR being ok with riding a high ownership cheap guy in a lineup that has a couple more unique pieces with the knowledge that he doesn't have to do very well for your lineup to still be competitive (ie. a t20 finish could be fine for a guy with 30% ownership when usually you'd want a top ~5 out of someone like that).

Too late to help anyone, but GPP fliers imo:

- Like Burmester for his current form. Top 4 in his last 3 tournaments, 2 wins in his last 10 tournaments. All on the European and Sunshine Tours but imho this is basically a Sunshine Tour quality field. He's the highest OWGR in the field this week (and it's actually not that close). But he's the 13th highest price ($9400) or whatever but if you look at form he's playing the best out of anyone. And will probably not be highly owned.
- way down, total scrub/flier play, $4700: Frankie Capan (16 years old) won the Puerto Rico Junior Open and broke the tournament scoring record on this same course in January to get an exemption into this field (obviously layout for amateur tournaments <> layout for PGA events).
- Johnson Wagner ($5600) has had just 1 round > 75 on tour since June of last year. In the fall series with similar weak fields in October-November 2015 he was consistently priced in the $80xx range. Now he's missed 6 cuts in a row or something like that so his price is low, but he still seems way more talented than basically anyone in that range and his current form isn't terrible.

So your potentially talented foreigners new to the tour, very young amateur with no profile but with course history, decent vet with poor but not that poor recent form are the kinds of guys I look for to be the combination of low owned + surprising results in $3 donkaGPPaments.

Also did a few stacked tee time rosters under the assumption it was going to be windier Thu afternoon/rain Friday morning so I faded that group but I don't think that forecast will hold up so probably is a miss there.

Dvaut for owgr you are wrong, coetzee is higher rated.
On the pampling this week as my flier, 6/6 cuts here, coming in bad form though, tweeted me positively haha.
Faded finau, Rodgers.

You are correct about Coetzee, I had him as 93rd for some reason.

I think this was wise.

Obviously, both have the game to compete in this field, but for DFS purposes, it was a very worthwhile fade.

i just clicked buttons this week. No real strategy at all. Good luck guys, see you Saturday and if any lineups get 6/6 through.

I Dont think this is a bombers course at all unlike some of the pros, and think lower ball flight is favoured with the wind, that was my take at least.

Eurgh, 60% Stanley here, along with 50% Noh, plenty of McGirt too. Only 3/70+ lineups left with 6/6 in the Birdie. One of those weeks!

Had a team in the top 100 before today's play, combined total of 7+ today including a DQ (apparently McNeil had an illegal club in his bag)... onto next week!

I have sole ownership of him in my Season long salary cap pool. Just lost an opportunity to gain on everyone with a decent finish.
