cwice just informed me the trade deadline was yesterday. lol me, I was looking at rosters thinking up some trade ideas.

anyway this Flyers-Devils game is pretty much a MICROCOSM of my week. I got Giroux/Simmonds/Elias and Kovalchuk in a game featuring 2 mediocre goalies and I have a combined 0 pts with 4 mins left in the 3rd.

Just out of curiosity how is the prize pool being divided up?

Missed playoffs by .5 points. I am crushed inside!

It's been a fun season so far. Playoffs should be interesting, too.

I probably missed this but can somebody break down which spots gets paid and how much? I assume it's rather top heavy (which is how it ought to be imo).

Also, how does 1st overall pick work for next year? Is it winner of consolation bracket?

Heh, I don't know if it was ever written in stone, but I'd planned on final results paying similar to a sit & go; $650/$350/$200 for the top three.

Wow, gg sir. At least you had the balls to pull the trigger on those wild deadline trades. My buddy is the one who edged you out, I'll be sure to give him some **** about it.

Yes, the winner of the consolation bracket receives the #1 pick.

Never really thought about this aspect of that system: I suppose picks 2 through 8 should then be determined by regular season finish? This would eliminate the incentive for the teams winding up in the 5/6, 9/10 and 11/12 games from losing purposely to garner a higher draft pick.

Makes sense to me. Are those in the winners bracket going to be drafting at their regular season finish, or is it going to be NHL style?

NHL-style for the first and third place matchups since there's no incentive to lose for a better pick.

I gotta say I got fleeced pretty hard by trading Giroux and Bishop for Staal and Crawful. Well done Khaos.

Giroux is gonna have trouble breaking 80 points next season let alone 90 if your Flyers keep this up.

Considering he'll get traded after his poor performance in a short sample, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I'm in another league that does it this way as well. #1 to consolation winner and then go to regular season finishes for 2-8.

Dominate Holtbeat before the playoffs, then get stomped in the playoff rematch. Standard. Can't compete with that kind of goaltending run hot.

A sad end to my season. Things were going so well and then everyone decided to get injured, which made me miss out on a bye week to give some time for Lupul, Kovalchuk, etc. to come back.

Oh well. Get 'em next year.

GG Holtbeast. I chose the wrong week to run hot, obviously.

Any point in trying to win the 'consolation' match for 5th place? I don't want to win and have my draft order hurt by finishing higher, but I assume benching everybody would be frowned upon. I'm going to play it normally, but winning should result in a higher draft position.

Also, anybody else think that next year we should have each playoff match last two weeks? Was never a fan of the one week playoff myself, though I'm not sure if changing it is feasible with yahoo hosting. Just a thought anyways.

Seems like a reasonable option for next year, I'm on board.
