Yahoo even has a one touch button now. Too bad it can be set to automatic.

Couple thoughts so far:

1. I hate GWG as a statistic. It's pretty much entirely luck based who wins on any given week. I know it's a standard fantasy stat to have, and I know the purpose is to give more value to goal scoring in general, it's just annoying how random it is from week to week. I have to have the least clutch team of all time or something because my GWG per goal ratio has to be the worst in the league.

2. I brushed on this before, but still not a fan of saves for goalies. It might as well be a games played statistic, since it always goes to the team with the most starts. Would much rather go back to counting wins, so I at least have a fighting shot on any given week rather than going in knowing that one category is a lost cause right off the bat.

3. Blocked shots is a great stat that I'm glad is in. Gives some actual value to defensive minded d-men that otherwise would have no real use in this kind of format.

4. Like GWGs, I also run bad at SHP. My opponent always gets one and I've yet to register one this season.

I am with you on #2. Although I have run absolutely horrible in the goalie department. Don't think you can run any worse then having both of your starters, who are usually the most reliable goalies in the game, injured.

Thanks for the feedback, A5.

Re: GWG, I think the point is to add that randomness in the form of a category that doesn't automatically bury/propel a team, the same with shutouts. I'm guessing your luck should even out by the end of the year.

I get the concern with saves and maybe we can add/revert to wins after the season. I think the logic behind that was to ensure guys didn't bench all goalies if they ran out to 3-4 wins and insurmountable GAA/SV% numbers. I'm beating you this week, but you aren't far behind and I could still potentially lose saves as well as GAA/SV% if I just shut it down for the week.

Yeah I mostly was just ranting about my shoddy luck rather than criticizing it's inclusion as a category.

I dunno, I think anybody sitting their goalies at 3-4 wins is risking quite a bit while denying themselves a chance at a shutout. Also, when a team is well behind in the saves department with no reasonable chance at a comeback it encourages them to sit their goalies once they've reached the games played minimum if they have the lead in GAA / SV%.

There are flaws to both to be sure but I still prefer wins so that the goalie strategy isn't just collect as many starters as you can to lock up the saves category and hope you luckbox the other three.

Agree with A5 on most of his points.

1) GWG I wouldn't mind seeing go away for next year but I have no idea what you would replace it with since we already have shots.

2) Not a fan of saves either but good points were made as to why we have it as a cat. I would like to see Wins in though.

3) BS is awesome. Totally agree.

4) Even though they are quite random I don't mind SHP as you can draft guys that are notorious for getting them.

There's a "goaltender appearances" box at the bottom of your roster page.

OK, I thought that we changed the goalie appearances to 3? I have three and it says that I am still short.

Pretty sure he only bumped up max weekly player adds and left goalie minimum at 4.

Ugh I figured 4 starts would be no problem in a compressed schedule but I guess not. Anyone else have an opinion on whether this should be changed?

And yeah, I bumped up player adds to three.

I think you had 4 starts/appearances last week..... Aren't you Peter North Stars? You had 2 from Jimmy Howard, 1 from the Boston back up goalie and 1 other goalie.

It's fine the way it is imo. Nobody should have that difficult of a time reaching the appearance minimum unless their goalies get ravaged by injuries. If you only have one starter for whatever reason then you just need to be pro-active when it comes to picking up backups who look like they're going to get a spot start from their team.

Totally agree. Easy to grab backups for spot starts if you need them.

Is there something wrong with Yahoo's lineup changes? I set my lineup ahead for the whole week to make sure everybody was playing, then today I check how I'm doing and I see a couple players on the bench, and a few scheduled to be sitting tomorrow when I have open spots. Is there a reason why this is happening? Maybe because I've just started using the new, possibly buggy 'start active players' button? Dunno, but this is some BS.

It was giving me some trouble when I was shuffling guys on and off the IR.

This would mean that I would have to actively manage my team which has proven somewhat difficult to date.

Yeah, if you bring somebody off IR after setting the next day's lineup, the next day and each subsequent will continue with the current day's lineup.
