I'm not playing unless it is via leaguesafe, or a long time poster who is still a high stakes reg online with flawless rep. Leaguesafe is probably best way to go, I've seen too many scams over the years in these spots and the buyins are big enough to tempt whoever is holding the money. One of the guys from our leagues last year ended up being a scammer in some other sportsbetting thread on this forum lol.

I've been in leagues with HRH for about 5 or 6 years now, and I've had great experiences with him.

As a leaguemate, I found him very pleasant to deal with in regards to trades.

As a commissioner, I found him great to deal with when approached with questions, thoughts, and concerns. He had always been prompt with payments.

I absolutely trust and support HRH being the Commish and escrow.

I would absolutely join some of these leagues without hesitation if I wasn't asked to scale it back by the wife.

I understand but as gbmantis said, unless there is a very serious hard vouch involved I would much rather go with leaguesafe as well for total amounts nearing 30k, nothing against OP but just for peace of mind

Correct. I don't really care who is the commissioner as long as someone in the league says they are legit, but 'being easy to deal with in trades' is not a good enough vouch for someone to be escrowing thousands of dollars for the leagues (lol?)

Your worries are not unfounded. There have been some shady characters who we turned a blind eye to in the past.

I have never met HRH in real life, so I can only go by the sense I've gotten from him over the past 5 years. Through all of our interactions, he seems like a good dude who is trustworthy.

Last year, when I ran the leagues, the participants took a leap of faith of sorts. The participants hoped I didn't do anything shady, and I would hold up my end of the bargain. And I did, just like my predecessors did as well.

These leagues are a fun, and with seemingly good people. I would put my trust in HRH.

I'm in for the $300/$500 shorter roster leagues and 2 QB leagues.

Also would be interested in getting rid of the Kickers.

I'm OK with whatever escrow method you guys all decide on.

For now, I'll just leave this as is but it looks like it's either going to be leaguesafe or El Nino 1 as escrow (pending references/high stakes reg status?). Leaning leaguesafe based on the vibes in the thread. As leagues fill, I'll poll the owners to determine if we will keep the K or no (I'll abstain from voting so total will be odd number- aka clear decision). Then we will get buy ins sorted out and RNG to spit out draft order.

Sounds good for voting out kicker. If it doesn’t pass, it would be nice to nerf kick r a little bit. Greg Zuerlein was a RB2/WR1 for most of last year in standard point formats, overall I enjoy the format a little better, changes strategy a little.

In the same poll could we talk about FAAB waivers instead of rolling waivers or is that too much?

Lists should be updated, I will be keeping waivers as is.

There will be 20k+ in buyins in all the leagues, can we assign a co-commissioner to the leagues, or split up who is commish for different leagues? Im sure HRH is legit but I don't want there to be anyone holding 20k+ in league buyins unless they have a hard vouch from someone reputable (and rich?) in the community.

I'd be willing to co-commissioner the leagues, or be commissioner to one of the leagues if we decide to split up the commish. One commissioner on all the leagues could lead to a very bad situation. Low probability outcome, but would suck for all parties involved if it happened. I've seen enough scams in football threads on this forum and p5 over the years to know its wise to go out of our way to avoid this possibility.

Are these snake or auction leagues? I'm in for the 3WR 1QB $300. I can also escrow for the league im in. I've been active in the MSNL thread for years and never had an issue. I wouldn't want to hold for a league that I'm not in though.

why not just use leaguesafe everywhere for holding funds? as far as commissioners/co-commissionners, I am good with whatever

The same problem occurs. Yahoo's settings allow the commissioner to pretty much make any changes they want, allowing the commissioner to automatically win the league if they choose to be a bad actor. (For example, they can just freeze others from setting their rosters or drop all the good players).

I have nothing personal against HRH7, I'm just not personally comfortable playing in 6+ different leagues with 20 or 30k in total buyins all have one commissioner, unless that commissioner is well known in the community and with a rock solid reputation. There's just too much temptation to act maliciously.

I just don't think we should have a non current poker reg (nothing to lose if they scam) in charge of every single league where they could walk away with 20k free scam and virtually no repercussions.

Leaguesafe warns against this very action on their site. I think it's a big enough buyin where we should at least be careful about this. I'd be willing to be commissioner for one or two of the leagues, but I think we should split it up, or at least have the players vote for who the commissioner will be before we start this thing. Thoughts?

I agree. Is there any way to make it basically impossible for the commissionner to steal or rig the league ? Can the use of a co-commissionner prevent this ? Majority voting league ? I am not familiar enough with the possible features.

FWIW I could also be commissionner in one or two leagues if necessary, I still play high stakes cash on Stars. I would not want to hold the funds though.

Maybe me and you should split up the commish duties then between us? Unless there are other current mid/high stake regs that want to play in the leagues and would be willing to commish. I won't be holding any funds either, I think most in this thread agreed that leaguesafe is fine for escrow.

Yeah that's fine with me, I don't want to get over involved either, just to help resolve any major issues. I don't want to be babysitting every transaction.

I'd play a 1k if there is interest for one, I think this is the highest limits on this forum that I've seen though.

I would prefer to commish either all of the leagues I wanted to run or none of them. My priority is to hit my volume goal for FF and since there was nothing higher than $100 BI up at the time I decided to gauge interest. I don't have any concern about any of you guys changing league settings once the money is collected on league safe so I am fine handing over all responsibilities and just being a participant. Otherwise, I want to run them all as my "reward" for taking the time to coordinate the leagues is getting to have the settings how I want them. I also have concern having multiple parties making decisions in season based on how much discussion has occurred in this thread already. I've never seen someone post leagues with openings then have participants take over decision making.

I am easy with whatever you guys want. I have played with and commissioned leagues with all of the people involved so far and I am at peace with whoever wants to hold my money lol or if you want me to hold the money. Ive had a flawless rep on 2+2 since I joined about 10 years ago but dont want to be the escrow as much as I want to see leagues run smoothly.

If there isnt a consensus on an escrow then league safe it up I guess. I just assume they rake it and that sounds awful. What if since there is 20-30k in BI if 3-4 of us hold 5-6k a piece ? HRH can still commish because that job is boring and thankless.

I am fine with 4 escrows and h2h commish them all
