I like Aguilar better than Gennett.

But for some reason (to my detriment) I just can never get on the Gennett train.

Just a thing to think about for QS Leagues...
Openers mean the person "starting" after the opener won't get a QS, because they'll be a RP. You may want to do some research, see which teams are doing Openers and how they might effect starters you may go after, TB and MIN come to mind, unsure of others

Are openers going to open games in which the "starter" is a pitcher that you actually want to roster? Like Tampa isn't ever going to do this with Snell, right?
I'm kind of thinking (hoping) that any pitcher who gets opened for, probably isn't good enough to be on my team.

I don't think that's the current plan, but the Rays didn't really shift into an opener until May. Other teams are interested/listening to the idea, it helps keep some pitchers innings down, lowers stats to keep their contracts down for arbitration (****ty and likely not the intended reason, but it happens). We don't really know how the opener might adjust, but the Rays have said they want 2 openers for this year, and who knows how they might change things again, just a thing to keep a close eye on for QS leagues, since openers could potentially kill the category.

Keeper decision in a 12-teamer.

You can keep two of:

Scooter Gennett in the 17th
Eugenio Suarez in the 11th
Gleyber Torres in the 19th

Other keepers are Corbin (20th), Story (7th), Baez (9th).

Gotta be Torres/Suarez, right? I feel like all three are overrated tbh. Also got Cano in the 21st as an option.

Suarez for sure.
Then I go Torres for upside.
Scooter is solid enough but we know hes unspectacular.

But it looks like you have 4 players for 3 positions, unless you use MI/CI

Staying away from Acuna/Soto at those prices. Good lord

Love Yelich but I’m not taking him in the 1st. Buoyed by way too big of a 2nd half to gamble on that. Never ever taking JDM in the top 5 gtfo

Story, Murphy, Aguilar, Realmuto off the top of my head undervalued

I am quite confident Realmuto is going to be the best value pick in the draft and firmly believe many championship teams will have him at catcher

If you take Turner over Bregman you deserve all the bad things that happen to you

Granted I haven’t done too much research and am just looking at things while at the gym but I see a lot of inefficiencies

Soto I've avoided, Acuna I can understand, but I do like him. They want Acuna leading off, and when he did, he hit .328 with 1.042 OPS with 19 HR, 14 SB, in 67 games. And his 1st half/2nd half splits tend to show how explosive he was in the 2nd half (after he came back from injury). Think he may be the real deal.

I love Story/Murphy as well, we love Rockies guys, it's no surprise here lol.

Aguilar I like too, but he struggled in the 2nd half, so it has me slightly worried, but 1B is very iffy overall other than top. Maybe he had some nagging injury or something, but it was a fairly big drop off 1st vs 2nd half.
Realmuto though....I'm just torn.

lol, it's tough. Bregman is coming off of elbow surgery, I think he'll be fine but may have a slow start. And Turner they want him to attempt 75-80 SB which is insanely high, but if they're really pushing him to run that much, with power, he may be worth it.

lindor/saurez or machado/sev

saurez has 4 years left at $6
Sev has 3 years left at $2

6x6 OBP and QS, same league above where I plan on keeping 4 SP's

Thanks!

We have MI, CI, INF, and UTIL positions, so not too worried about a MI glut.

How would you rank these guy's values in a 12 team 6x6 league, where you get 8 keepers:
Player (round he can be kept)
Haniger (25th rd)
Tatis Jr (24th rd)
Matt Chapman (17 rd)
Gleyber (16th rd)
Conforto (8th rd)

Over the next 3 years they will move up +2 rounds, +4 rounds, +6 rounds.

I can only keep 3 of them and trying to decide if I want to trade any of them and give another owner the chance to keep for dirt cheap for several years.
Fwiw, the return wouldn't be great - like maybe a 3rd or 4th rd pick for 2 of them. Which, with something like 75 of the top 100 players being kept, might only give me a shot at maybe the 50th-70th ranked guy by adp.

I am trying to figure out if my league is "normal" or not. I play in a 12-team NL-only keeper league with an auction draft. We have the standard 23-player roster (2C, 1b, 2b, 3b, ss, 5OF, CI, MI, UTIL, 9 pitchers) BUT the 2nd catcher, CI, MI, and last two OF do not start. Also, you only start 6 pitchers (we have daily moves).

I never see it discussed explicitly, but it seems like draft software on places like RotoWire, Baseball Prospectus, etc. set their prices assuming every player starts. Is this correct? Is our league different in that only some of the 23 players start? If so, I assume this means that the top-level players are being way undervalued in our drafts.

what do you mean they do not start? I'm confused by that, do you have no bench and the bench goes in those slots? Do you mean a maximum of 2C on your team?

From my guess: The 23 player roster (you say is standard, isn't really too standard, 2 C sucks, but I've seen it used), is common for mixed leagues with a bench (usually 5? depends). I'm guessing since they put it in for NL only, it's not really possible to be able to start that many players due to limited player pool. Instead of just lowering the starters (remove C, CI/MI, 2 OF, 3 P), they just removed the bench slots and made those positions bench spots for some reason.

On a given day, this is your starting lineup:
C
1b
2b
ss
3b
OF
OF
OF
UTIL

This is your bench (their stats don't count):
CI
MI
OF
OF

You also start 6 pitchers and sit 3 on the bench.

I'm asking that if it is more common for all of these players' stats to count every day (ie no bench).

23 player rosters with 2-C and no bench used to be the standard roster for roto leagues, but it's definitely less common now. And, usually they would all be active at all times, unless the league included DL spots.

In your format I would definitely look to overpay for some high upside guys in the middle rounds. Most people will draft mediocre players that have starting jobs locked up for the guaranteed at-bats, but I don't see the value in tieing up too many bench spots with that type of player.
