Why is everyone on this board so combative? Can't we all just get along and talk fantasy instead of looking for excuses to hurl poo?

Is there an easier category than saves to dominate? Please explain.

So I'm joining a keeper league that is weekly h2h categories. Haven't played in 10 years.
(AVG, HR, R, RBI, SB, OBP / W, S, K, ERA, WHIP, L)
that has daily roster changes allowed (4 acquisition/week max).
3 SP, 2 RP, 2 P....Hitters pretty normal.

5 players kept from each team (but 1 had to come from late rounds).
I kept Bumgarner, Verlander, Bregman, Ozuna, Puig.

Am I correct in thinking that SP/RP is going to be much less important than getting my hitters lined up? Like unless a great value is around should I be drafting hitters for the next 6 rounds? I just can't wrap my head around how important P will be or not be in this league.

I pick 3rd. Should I be trying to nab Jansen or Kimbrel? Carrasco or Severino? Or just get guys like Rendon, Gallo, Beltre first few rounds? (Yellow highlight are soft targets...Faded ones are kept players).

Thanks for any help!

How many teams are in the league? If it is not particularly deep you can stream your pitching by making moves to get pitchers in good matchups and with 2 start weeks.

The turn over rate at closer alone every year makes your statement false. You can draft to dominate steals, or HRs, or Ks just as easily as you can with saves.

12 team league. I sort of planned to try to stream. Now I just lost one of my keepers until ASB(ish). Fantasy baseball already hates me. haha

Sanchez in the 2nd, knebel in the 4th, tanaka in the 5th are massive leaks unless that's a 16 teamer

Im not ever making any of those 2/3/4/5 picks to be honest.
1st pick was elite though

Depends on how many teams and especially scoring format. H2H and roto have completely different strategies for me. That said drafts don't really matter much as long as you hit on at least a half of dozen players. At least for my style. I often turn over the entire roster barring the few guys that are actually useful stars. Baseball has breakout guys all over the place every year. I just try to draft guys I like or am comfortable with. Since I am guessing you are a Yankees fan you seem to have that covered That said I dislike a lot of your picks but that's why we play the game, differences of opinion are what make it entertaining.

Disregard.

Still feel like a better hitter is there at 33 though. Bregman, Seager?

I was debating between Bregman and Sanchez, but with such a limited amount of power (HR) and RBI based Catchers I wanted to nab either Gary or Buster.

Both of the catchers were within the next 10 players I knew were going to go next, so I grabbed Sanchez.

Thoughts on the pitching staff I have though?

Knebel
Tanaka
Kuechel
Syndergaard
Doolittle
Chad Green
Michael Fulmer
JA Happ
Archie Bradley
Pat Neshek

The idea behind this was keep ERA and WHIP low, and balance wins and strikeouts.
Knebel, Doolittle, and Bradley/Neshek should get me Saves

Lol 16 teams is good share when you post a question asking about how your team looks

Idk i just Refuse to draft a catcher until way late or just get one off waivers, they’re only playing 75% of the games. Bergman’s upside this year is pretty massive too, the type that will win a championship. Idk if Sanchez is putting any teams over the top.

Your pitching is solid though assuming snyd/Tanaka can stay healthy and kuechel has a solid year

I kinda agree with the going SP early strategy, the quality of hitters I noticed late in my draft weren't that far off from like 6-10th round guys. OF is very homogeneous outside of the top guys.

12 team points league, 10 starts max per week, top SP will outscore top hitting and there is wider variance between average SP and average hitting. Big strikeout guys are terrible as hitters and great as SP, this league really rewards that. Holds count as points too. Starters have position next to them, otherwise they are bench, what we think?

C - JT Realmuto
C- Chris Ianneta
1B - Matt Carpenter
2B - Jose Ramirez
SS - Elvis Andrus
3B - Travis Show
MI - Daniel Murphy
CI - Ryan Zimmerman
LF - Aaron Hicks (I love him for where he is going in drafts)
CF - Lorenzo Cain
RF - Nomar Mazara
OF - Max Kepler
OF - Kole Calhoun
Util - Pujols (will drop, was last round pick)

SP - Sale, Severino, Keuchel, Bauer, Chase Anderson, Maeda, Lance Lynn, Chacin, Jimmy Nelson (on DL)
RP - Kimbrel, Treinen, Blake Parker, Petit, Claudio, Swarzak, Joe Smith
