However the values still will not always line up with what players actually go for in our league, nor should they.
Those values that the calculator spits out are telling you how much production the players are projected to provide - not necessarily how much teams will (or should) spend on them.

So I don't think I would try to manipulate the output to match what the highest priced players actually go for. Just use that knowledge to your advantage. Either by knowing in advance that you will have to over pay for a 1st round type talent, and therefore plan on taking more $1 players at the end, OR pass on the over priced superstars, knowing that its a mathematical certainty that there will be lots of mid range bargains.

Remember you are trying to build a roster that has the most total $ value possible in the starting lineup, and enough $1-$3 players that you have a good chance to hit on a couple breakouts. Those guys have the most room to return a huge profit, and the league winners typically hit on two or more of them.
Thanks for the response; however, if the bolded is true, then the $$ values shouldn't change when I adjust the settings, correct? Because me changing the settings doesn't change what a player will produce.

6x6 12 man roto league (with OBP and Holds on top of normal categories). I've got about $185 left out of a $260 budget after keepers. See below

C -
1B -
2B - Altuve
3B - Machado
2B/SS -
1B/3B -
OF - Just Dong
OF - Springer
OF - Betts
OF - Blackmon

SP - Sevirino

6 Bench slots.

Some players available in the draft include: Trout, Goldy, Harper, Freeman, Donaldson, E5, Marte, Dozier, Kershaw, Sale, Strass, Arrieta, Ohtani, Jansen
Tanaka.

Ideal play is drafting Kershaw and Sale here right for like $120? I'd like to grab freeman to help with OBP but don't really think I need him

If you change the settings the player values will change because certain stats become worth more/less. The prices also change based on how many players are rostered in the league (which is based on # of teams and how many starting hitters, pitchers, and bench players you input.)
Thats mostly because the value of replacement level players (basically guys on the wire) is changing overall, but also because certain positions are more/less scarce.

You can mess around with this tool and see how values should be changing when your roster inputs change:

Is there no starting SS slot?

Machado will be SS-eligible 2 weeks into the season, I'd spend some money on 1B and 3B in addition to targeting high end pitching.

Either way, with your keepers you're definitely off to a great start

Looking for a replacement in the 2+2 multi-sport dynasty league!

Hey guys,

We have an opening in the 2+2 multi-sport dynasty league and are looking for an interested party degenerate enough to come join an awesome unique league!

The league has been going strong for 5+ years and is very active in trade discussions and activities. It's a league with three separate dynasty leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB) with a 10 man minor league farm and a 5 round rookie draft in each sport every year. You can trade picks and players freely from one sport to another if you wish - things like Harper for LeVeon Bell can and have happened before.

The team you'd be inheriting has been rebuilding but have very good foundational pieces in all three sports. See below for some of the players that the team you'd be inheriting will have:

Kamara
Mixon
Kareem Hunt
Juju Smith-Schuster
Cooper Kupp
Sammy Watkins
Derrick Henry
Amari Cooper
Dak Prescott
Jarrett Allen
Josh Jackson
Clint Capela
Buster Posey
Joey Votto
Kris Bryant
Mookie Betts
Ryan Braun
Gregory Polanco
Bumgarner
Sale
Archer
Darvish
Wacha
Nola
Rodon

We're about to start our rookie baseball draft, and would like to get a new owner ASAP to step in. I gave a quick summary above but if you have any questions feel free to PM me or stop by in thread and I'll be happy to help.

Cheers guys

Taking over a team in a keeper league. First year in a long time doing fantasy baseball.
3 OF, 2 UTIL Hitters, 2 P, 3 SP, 2 RP.

HR, AVG, OBP, SB, R, RBI // ERA, WHIP, SV, K, W, L

I have to keep a late round pick (Puig). Then I have to keep 4 others. Round drafted doesn't matter, just keep 4. I know I'm keeping Bumgarner and Verlander. Need to figure out my other 2.

H: Posey, Zobris, Longoria, Gregorious, Trumbo, Ozuna, Ellsbury, Bregman, Fowler.
P: Britton, Vargas, J. Gray, Nova, Eduardo Rodriguz, Chapman, R. Osuna, Hendricks.

Help?

I'd go Marcell Ozuna and Bregman, especially given that you're already keeping two pitchers.

Ozuna and bregman for me as well not really close

Odds Familia looks like he did pre-injury and keeps Swarzak and Ramos from taking over as closer?

The debate over how sites will handle Ohtani for positional purposes won’t last long imo.

I’m sure the power is very real, but I think Ohtani is .220 hitter unless he makes significant adjustments to his swing. I cannot think of a single successful hitter as big as Ohtani who keeps his hands as far from his body as Ohtani. The result is a long swing. I think hard stuff up, RH sliders under his hands, and average-or-better change ups are going to eat him alive.

Not great at fantasy baseball, but in an 8 team dynasty h2h(6x6 scoring I think... bad at fantasy baseball terminology) league with 4 keepers and want to get some suggestions.

Current keeper options I have are springer, bumgarner, Rendon, sano, Xander, and Cabrera. Leaning towards first four. Not fantastic by any means. Have all my picks this year, but know I'm kind of lacking on studs to keep long term in the future.

Have potential to package my 2nd in a deal for seager, and potentially some package around any of my first 3 picks for benintendi. Would these guys be an upgrade enough over current keepers to justify giving up high picks this year or should I try to get more mid round picks out of them in the deals if trying to do this?

Obviously the value on those guys is high, just trying to get an idea of if the upgrade is worth the value of the picks or not.

I think you need to concentrate on gambling on guys with super high upside, because you really dont have any 1st round type talent to keep - especially considering its an 8 teamer.

Doubt any of these are being kept in a keep-4 so try to draft a few guys like Acuna, Vladi Guerrero Jr, Ohtani, Fernando Tatis, Eloy Jimenez, Forrest Whitley, etc and hope you hit on 1 or 2 studs.

Avoid Seager. His injury scares me and surgery at some point seems inevitable.
As far as the choices you posted, I would go with
Bum
Springer
Rendon
Xander

Cabrera isn't worth keeping since he can be drafted so late this year, and Sano is facing a lengthy suspension for the assault allegations.

keeper decision

12tm league, 8 keepers per team with draft rd penalties.
I would guess ~15-18 of the top 25 SP are being kept, and ~30 of the top 40 hitters.

I have these 7 guys are locked in:
Harper 1
Stanton 2
Verlander 8
Kluber 9
Bregman 23
Jimenez 24
Judge 25

For the last spot do you keep
Greinke rd4
or
Matt Olson rd 22

given the top SPs being taken, no way greinke makes it to the 4th rd, right? id just grab him and have the better team, tbh

Ya you're probably right. He would likely go in the top 10 or so picks and I dont have a pick until 3.12

Signed up for first Yahoo Pro league of the year yesterday, and they charged my account 3 times.

That sucks.
Did all 3 charges go through, or are they still pending?

Still pending, so hopefully corrects itself. Still annoying tho, and their customer service is pretty brutal. But dam their leagues are juicy!

Anyone looking for a league ITT? May be in need of one more for a 6x6 H2H with some adjusted scoring. $50 buy-in, adjusted/custom cats are OBP, SLG, HR Allowed, QS.

Waiting on a dude to get back to me but seems to be in the wind. Likely targeting Sunday before Opening Day for a draft as that time has worked in the past.
