Jon Gray is the biggest buy low in the history of fantasy baseball right now

ERA is 5.40. xFIP is 3.04. He has 1.6 WAR with a 5.40 ERA.

It just doesn't make sense.

His peripherals are all elite as ****, and his downfall is just a LOB% that is a bit out of whack and should normalize. .368 BABIP!!!!

Here I have ERA-FIP, you can see what a outlier he truly is with this as he has almost twice as much as the second place guy.

BUY LOW on him right now you should be able to get him for pennies on the dollar.

Gray has a pretty high career BABIP and a below-average career LOB%, which is pretty normal for Rockies pitchers. You can look at his 2016 numbers, and see how a pretty bad fantasy asset can end up as a pretty valuable Rockies pitcher.

I'll take his LOB the last 2 years of 73 and 74 over the ones earlier in his career.

Even with his above average BABIP .368 is still really really high.

It's plainly evident to me that he will have better times ahead.

I don't think I'm touching Gray. His BABIP is so high in part bc guys are hitting rockets off him all over the field. His 16% soft hit rate is in the bottom 1/3 of MLB starters. Most of the good starters are well over 20%
And how often are you really going to start at home?
I think hes fine to stream on the road, but not sure I'd want to burn a permanent roster spot on him.

Even accounting for a correction in BABIP, all the projections still think he will have a 4 ERA and a crappy whip in the 1.26 -1.35 range which seems about right even for good Rockies pitchers

There was an article about Gray on fangraphs about how he's tipping his pitches. His arm slot on his fastball and slider/curve ball are so different and it's leading to his hard hits.

Have an underperforming offense (Goldy, Correa, Bellinger) in a keeper league but one guy who I could actually cut is Kinsler. Would you swap him out for any of these guys?

B Crawford is also sitting on the WW somehow, its only a 12-teamer and I would have to make some sort of move because all 3 of my MI would be shortstops.

EDIT - my biggest offensive needs are AVG/HR, not SB.

I dropped Bell in two of my 12 team leagues last week. I wouldn't want to roster Cozart either though, unless its a super deep league.
Cutch has been garbage but I wouldn't drop him yet.

Any Giants fans have insight into whether the second coming of Nunez (Alen Hanson) figures to get any playing time, or if they're content to leave a 20/20 contender on the bench?
