Do you have the yahoo fantasy app for your phone? That is what I use and it takes only 30secs to set my line up.

I did discover the "set my active players" button so setting the lineup isn't hard. It is the issue of monitoring the schedule, matchups, injuries and available players to pick up. Honestly that is really the whole game so I was just commenting in jest.

How many keepers did we decide on again? 8?

Note for the trade deadline: Don't know why the settings are so ambiguous, but there should be only 18 rounds in draft picks for next year with 8 keepers unless we decide to increase the roster size. Keep this in mind if you plan to trade any picks.

Ugh, and I was going to offer the 19th and 20th pick in next year's draft for Ovechkin. Now I just feel like if I went any higher I'd be getting ripped off.

I don't think that people should be allowed to trade picks until they have committed / paid for next year.

I have some concerns with this as well. I think the trade that just went down is likely a solid deal for Bay, my only concern is that people trade off picks and then abandon their team for next year.

At the very least I think we should consider adding a rule that if you trade a draft pick for next year and win money part of this cash should be automatically held back for next years buy in.

Alternatively just not allow the trading of picks at all, which I would not be in favour of.

Bolded might be a good idea. I like it better than having to put down next season's deposit while the current season is running. This particular trade was me and cwice, so I'm not worried about him running off.

Bolded is def a good idea that I didn't think about. We have a good community here but you never know if somebody is going to mortgage their future and then bail if the deal doesn't pan out.

And it's prob too late now but we probably should've forced people to sign up for a minimum of 3 years, it being a keepers league and all - even if it's just a gentleman's agreement.

Mini rant: NHL.com has a page that lists starting goalie projections on any given day. Today they listed Rask and Fasth as starters as of about 5pm, so I started them. They also listed Carolina's starter as TBD, which is relevant because I have Justin Peters on my roster.

So naturally neither Rask or Fasth start, and Peters gets a shutout. Hiller, who I also have, has allowed one goal through two periods.

Cliff notes: LOL NHL.com, fml.

Just out of curiosity will trades be allowed during the off season before we select our keepers?

In unrelated news I want more time to trade

Yeah, the two of us aren't going anywhere so I don't think this deal is a problem. As far as the bolded rule suggestion, I'm okay with that in theory, but it should also be pretty easy to evaluate stuff like this on a case-by-case basis as well.

Yes, this is fine. We'll set a date before the draft that all keepers need to be selected by, but trades can be allowed during the period before that date. Not sure how Yahoo's roster settings will accomodate, but if you strike a deal I can likely just do it manually if need be.

Also, just wanted to give you all a for a fun year so far and for being flexible on coming up with settings, rules, and such. This came together in a short period of time after the lockout, and we'll have a pretty good thing going as we iron out how we want to do things as certain situations arise.

Just saw that, sick trade. Quite a shake up for a team that is third in winning percentage, no?

I think it helps me. I needed goalie help badly and lost faith in Malkin given the way Crosby is playing. Only so many points to go around imo. Also in getting Neal in return I still maintain exposure to the potent Pittsburgh offence while also getting Parise who has the potential to be a stud/top 10 player. He has shown he can put up 90pts in the past.

Really hoping Luongo gets traded at the deadline.

I am always open for trades, especially those who like to counter offer to actually try and work something out.

Hard to get anything going with complete rejections.
