What is practical relevance of EV/EQ in pio?

I understand what the formula is and it relates to equity realization but what does it mean as a practical matter?

Which formula do you mean? I know that it's always possible to calculate raw equity of your range vs villain's range and then run a sim to find out if you under or over-realise by looking at EVs. What is your question?

I think he means the EV / EQ option in the range analysis window with the horizontal bar charts
