What does a balanced flop cbetting frequency look like? What does a balanced flop cbetting frequency look like?

What is a good cbetting frequency now a days? I'm not entirely new to the concept of balance but I am trying to work it into my game lately so I can apply it when needed. But in doing so I'm having a hard time keeping my cbet flop above the low 50 percents. When using an a more exploitative approach my cbet frequency can be anywhere from 55% to low 70s(%).

So I was just wondering if this is an issue or is having a cbet frequency of about 45%-53% considered normal when applying a more balanced cbetting strategy?

At game speed, I'm not thinking about the actual frequency at all. I'm thinking about the preflop action and positions and how those factors affect a proper value betting range, which will determine a proper bluffing range.

The size of the c-bet has a huge influence on how often you should optimally place such a bet.

Smaller bet sizes can be bet more frequently than larger bets, and there is equilibrium in both scenarios.

As Bob also pointed out, flop texture and preflop ranges are huge also.

The percentages quoted by the OP sound high to me, unless the size is small, maybe 1/3 pot or less. There are so many variables involved, for better numbers maybe someone familiar with pokersnowie or a similar solver could give more precise numbers.

Isn't it more important for one to understand what each bet sizes accomplishes in terms of
EV. Playing shallow or deep and your perceived range should be important as well.

Agreed. Larger bets *should* fold out more of the perceived call range of the caller. Certain boards favor some players more than others, so a large bet by the player with range advantage may leave a caller only repping a weak holding (or very few combos of slow played sets)

So the size of a c-bet on a given board should set up one player with either a clearly polar position, or leave both players with continuous ranges on later streets, depending on flop texture.
