I have been struggling with finding a method that would allow me to quickly estimate the boundaries of a hand, in terms of "it is in N% of the best hands", according to Sklansky-Chubukov rankings. I came up with the following. Here is the part of the table that shows hands in descending order of strength according to sklansky-chubukov:
handcombospercentrankcumulative percent
AA60.45%10.45%
KK60.45%20.90%
AKs40.30%31.21%
QQ60.45%41.66%
AK120.90%52.56%
JJ60.45%63.02%
AQs40.30%73.32%
TT60.45%83.77%
AQ120.90%94.68%
9960.45%105.13%
AJs40.30%115.43%
8860.45%125.88%
ATs40.30%136.18%
AJ120.90%147.09%
7760.45%157.54%
6660.45%167.99%
AT120.90%178.90%
A9s40.30%189.20%
5560.45%199.65%
A8s40.30%209.95%
KQs40.30%2110.26%
4460.45%2210.71%
A9120.90%2311.61%
A7s40.30%2411.92%
KJs40.30%2512.22%
A5s40.30%2612.52%
A8120.90%2713.42%
A6s40.30%2813.73%
A4s40.30%2914.03%
3360.45%3014.48%
KTs40.30%3114.78%
A7120.90%3215.69%

Now if I memorize the ranking of each hand, then I can divide it by 2 to estimate the boundaries, for example:
AJ => rank = 14, so it's in 7% of best hands!
KQs => rank = 21, so it's in 10.5% of best hands!
etc, etc..
Indeed it's sometimes off by 1-2 percents, but I think it would be really useful in some situations, for example, let's say on live game you noticed that a V opened A2 from MP. You can estimate that he opens 22-23% from this position. Or, for example you know that you can either fold or push 10% in the current situation, so if you hold KTs, it's out of bounds and you should fold...

I think A2s is stronger than A7o with full stacks from middle position. I usually raise it but my range doesn't include A9o-A2o, KTo, QJo, etc.

As the stacks get deeper I think ranges should be more and more suited hand heavy.

As stacks get shorter I think ranges should be more and more high card heavy.

That's why I think it's a mistake to estimate your opponent's raise % the way you did. Instead I think it's best to wait to see just how out of line this opponent can get; I would continue to coldcall and 3bet my default ranges after seeing this opponent open with A2s.

I wouldn't use the Sklansky-Chubakov rankings for building ranges in typical 100bb deep cash games. (A hand like A2s is almost always more playable than A9o, as Bob said). Just make (or look up) some charts of typical opening ranges, and - if you really think it's necessary - try and remember the percentages.
For example, in a 6-max game, I might ascribe a range of 55+, AJo+, KQ, ATs+, KJs+, QJs, JTs to a nitty reg that opened UTG, but without looking at Equilab, I can't tell you what proportion of hands that is (about 12%, maybe?) and it's not important to know the number. I just want to know how my hand plays against that range.
