Seeing hu players minraise while others raise 1.25 and 1.5, could someone explain the difference and why a player would minraise vs 1.25 or 1.5?

There's not much difference.

I've done a comparison of ~40 regs in my pool (6-max) who open 2x and ~40 regs who open 3x and discovered that their win rates are almost identical from all positions.

It really doesn't mater much which sizes you use, what matters is how you play later on.

Although to be fair, if any of them switched to another size, they might become losers (or less likely, bigger winners).

When you're a winning player and you isolate a piece of strategy and try different variations on it, it is tempting to pick the one that performs best and say "this is the best way". But this strategy fragment belongs in your larger overall strategy and really what you've most likely done is pick a small strategy that works well within your overall strategy (you probably adjusted your overall strategy a bit at the same time, but with smaller changes that are less obvious)

I guess it's kind of a form of survivor bias - this opening size works for me therefore it's the right one, without consideration that different opening sizes will work different for someone else. It's the same impulse that leads tight players to surmise that looser players are bad, or for full stack players to assume that short stacking is a bad strategy, etc.
