I type this post here becouse I want make theory consideration about ranges in relation with pot odds and eventually equity realization


The game is this:
5/10/20(5) 8players
I want analyze this situation where:
- we are SB, BB, STRADDLE
- we are CO, BTN
***You must put the straddle

So... I want make a comparision about 10/20 to 5/10/20(5)
10/20 => total pot 30, std situation where villain open 50 or 60
and BB need put 30 or 40 to win 110 or 130
we have p.odds% 50=>27.28%, 60=>30.76%
But this isnt the main point (for now....)

consideration:
If we are SB, need speak after us BB and STRADDLE (2 players)
How we can open? In a similar scenario, btn vs blinds need speak 2 players but we are IP.
Conclusions:
I think about a rfi not more bigger than a standard CO
At the end... the ''real SB'' in this game is BB

consideration:
Situation RFI: here is correct a ''Limping Strategy''?
All fold, and we need to speak... pot 8 Ante of 5 = 40, SB fold (45total..) + blinds(30)
pot is 75 and we altrady put 10 into the pot.. so:
A- Open 3-4x
B- Limping 10 for win 85

And how much we need 3bet?
Is correct if we 3bet no more than a 3bet vs BTN in a normal game?

OK, straddle close the game and we need consider it like a big blind..
So.. In a normal game 10/20 we assume that BTN open 60=>30.76% and we have this odds...

So here the dead money are: 5+10+20+ 8*5= 75
BTN open 80(4x) for win 215.. odds% 27.9%
if btn open 90 (4.5x) for win 235.. odds 29.78%
if btn open 100(5x) for win 255... odds 31.37%

OK the final question is: In a normal game we 3x I have 30.76% pot odds, here i have 29.78% pot odds vs a 4.5x, CAN I DEFEND THE SAME RANGES?
He steal bigger becouse dead money is bigger than a normal situation, but my responsability of defence?

Yes you can and should defend your 30 percent of hands. You may choose to continue differently with some holdings, such as having a raise range that has enough bluffs but can also have some playability when called, etc. In my opinion, the straddle does what is intended and creates larger pots and more action, so you are required to participate at a minimum frequency to avoid exploitation.
