It's been a while since I read it, but does it use any math aside from algebra? I seem to recall it uses some probability/bayesian thinking but I also seem to recall it teaches you how to use these tools. Admittedly it's been years since I read it.

Maybe start here: where are you getting stuck, or which parts do you feel like you don't have the tools to understand?

i had to turn to some online algebra, and prob/stat websites, and an old math textbook i had. in certain portions of yhe book i felt pretty frustrated that the authors didnt make the lessons more accessible. nevertheless i learned a great deal from MOT

Yeah, it is a monster. Just quote the page number and the exercise, and we can walk you through it, within reason. If everything in the book is a mystery, then it is probably not going to be very helpful to you.
