Ranges are based around position, SRP, 3BP, board texture, the street, the line you take, the bet sizing you want to use in your strategy: I dont understand how good players keep track of all these ranges and find a way to balance them appropriately.

Intuitively I think I should only study ranges which are based on the most common lines, is this correcrt?

The biggest variable, imo, is bet sizing.

The high stakes thread features bloating the pot pre, followed by mandatory small flop bets. This sets up the turn/river for autopilot (yet balanced) play.

So, these players are experts at turns and rivers with lower SPR, and I assume they spend most study with solvers along these lines.

At the micros, I choose a more basic preflop strat, but c-bet widely with larger bet size on the flop. This sets up standard turn barrels or checks, and leaves my check range generally weak (but still has the nuts sometimes). This is the way I play and the lines that I frequent, so am familiar with.

All of these strategies can be balanced, but would be a far cry from truly optimal.

The top players have learned to play various difficult spots through a mixture of experience and intensive study. (I don't know how many hands LLinusLove has played, but I'd guess it's a few million. He knows what to do in a 4-bet pot between UTG and SB because he's played - and studied - those spots more often than mere mortals).

I think a relative beginner should indeed study the more common spots. Two of the most useful are single raised pots between the BTN and the BB, and 3-bet pots between the BTN and SB.

thanks for the feedback

i dont wna start a separate thread but I have another question that im hoping someone can help me with

When it comes to river bet sizing strategy I dont understand this:

on the flop and turn should hero be constructing his range in anticipation of a river sizing, or should hero choose his river sizing based on the composition of the range he arrives with naturally?

ex: on the flop hero starts picking a rough ratio of value:bluff/draw/block to carry through andf balance his river bet

OR

hero arrives on the river w/ some % misses/potential bluffs, and chooses his sizing according to the composition of his range
