How would you react to a linear SB limping strategy? How would you react to a linear SB limping strategy?

SB open-limps the top 80% of their range, folds the rest (no raises). Action is on you in the BB. How would you react? (No rake)

My first thought is that BB should polarize. Against a standard GTO SB limping range both Zenith and Modern Theory of Poker recommend a polarized raising range at about 40% frequency total. But these ranges assume that the SB has a well-balanced strategy.

If they never 3b or 3b very seldomly when you iso (<10%), then you can probably iso 50-60% in a relatively linear way.

Otherwise something like 40-45% iso seems solid. Something like ISO a normal BTN RFI range with some slight polarization. Might iso something like 92o and check behind J5s or something.

Thanks for your input Brokenstars.

FWIW this player will limp-raise aggressively, and I would consider them stronger than me (despite this weird play). They'll likely range-bet the flop when I check back.

Can you explain your logic behind how hard you polarize? What factors would cause you to polarize harder or go a bit more linear?

Well i have this solved vs a 75% limp with having a balanced x/r and its a 40% cbet.

You'd want to polarize more with the higher frequency that they fold.

To clarify, SB averages a ~40% betting frequency across most flops after BB checks? Or BB cbets around 40% frequency after raising the limp and getting called?

Your terminology is a bit confusing because small blind isn't checking and you can't really call it a continuation bet if you didn't bet prior. Semantics
