for example:
btn opens, i've decided on a sb continuing range of 35%. 3betting top 30% and coldcalling bottom 5% with some frequency of crossover between the 2 ranges. is there a mathematical formula for solving the correct frequencies of deviation?

note: i'm not interested in specific hand frequencies, only general range frequencies. please help!

Hmm. You are 3b with 30 percent of hands. Why mix in the 5 percent? You are already balanced in the linear 30 percent. What you need to balance is the cold call, by adding some percentage of AA, imo.

Wrt mixing is which parts of it you 4b or 5b. pick a top percentage to 4b and add some suited Ax to bring along for balance. I would just reserve the tippy top for 5b since a 5b range is usually very narrow and balances itself between big pairs and AKs.

The 5 percent cold calls are hands that naturally play well 3-ways, but I would not worry that you will be exploited, since this range connects well enough to be profitable because of the cheaper price to see a flop. Ace high flops will not favor you, but ten high flops and similar wet flops are your playground.
