Hey guys I am wondering how do you approach playing in HU asymmetric range spots.

I am particularly talking about uncapped spots so both ranges can have the nuts but one is maybe 1.1-2x as likely and the bottom end of the weaker range is much weaker.

The game I am working on is 2-7 single draw. In the spot where one player has a 1 card draw to a 7 and the other has a 2 card draw to a 7.

What is GTO? How do you play both ranges in and out of position or better yet how do you approach the theory of these spots?
From what I can remember from Mathematics of Poker most of the toy games are symmetric [0,1] games so I do not know how to apply math to these spots.
How do you defend optimally as the weaker range or is it impossible?

Thanks,

Who's in position and what was the action like and how big is the pot and which draw is it?

The difference of position matters because the out of position player has to check fold his bad hands, but the in position player can check back.

This would help me visualize the situation.

how big is the pot
This has an effect on how thin players can value bet or raise, which effects bluffing frequency and how often they check and or fold.

Early streets allow for more bluffing than late streets.

Well let's first talk about the most of common situation.

The action is open and call from BB.
BB draws 2
IP player draws 1.
Pot size is 1.
Betting is NL.
Stack size 2-10.
This is a post draw river decision.

You need to make an (0,1) game out of it. This could take a while and I'm not very good at this calculation.

I'd probably start by running through half-street games like MoP does. I'd solve for situations like BB must check and either call or fold to a pot-sized bet and hope that solving for increasingly complex games helps me figure something out.
