What hands to bluff on river What hands to bluff on river

I used to think that the idea on bluffing on the river was to use hands that missed draws like missed flush draws and missed straight draws, but recently when watching videos I have been noticing that they seem to be saying that when bluffing, these are the hands that we want villain to have, not hero.

That seems to make sense, but it's still a little strange because if we're bluffing we have a weak hand and when we get to the river with a weak hand much of the time that is because we missed all our draws. I guess if we're not bluffing with missed draws, that leaves bluffing candidates like over-cards like AK/AQ and small or medium pairs, maybe suited Aces that may or may not have paired the kicker.

So maybe those type hands are good bluffing candidates to use, in addition to watching for spots where our opponent's last actions were weakish, i.e. they had been checking/calling and not betting/raising. Also we should consider blockers, and lean more towards bluffing when having blockers to villain's value and not blocking villain's draws.

Comments appreciated.
