Anyone know of any links to a chart or easy formula to convert "M" to big blinds in tournements? My software has "M" but not BB.

Let A = ante, N = number of players. Then

bb = (M-A)*N/1.5

Hmm, isn't M the number of rounds you have at the current level before you'd be broke, from paying blinds and antes? Every round you pay S+B+NA where S is the small blind, B is the big blind, N is the number of players and A is the ante. Usually S=.5B and B=1bb so you have
M = stack / (1+.5+NA)
M = stack / (1.5+NA)
stack = M * (1.5 + NA)
Did I go wrong somewhere?

Well, and I guess there's also the notion that M is based on a full table of 10 so if N < 10 then really
M = stack * (N/10) / (1.5B + NA)
10M/N = stack / (1.5B + NA)
10M/N * (1.5B + NA) = stack

Don't know where I came up with that equation. Guess I still haven't recovered from Maryland's loss in NCAA.

Most tables have 9 seats

At FTP they do, at PS they don't. Depends on the game too, there are 6max tournaments, stud tournaments are usually 8 handed, maybe omaha also?

Anyway, I'd have to haul out HoH again to see if you should do N/M where M is the max or N/10, i.e. M is really how many "tens" of hands you have left instead of how many rounds. Depending on which interpretation you use, M is either 10 or the # of people at a full table.

At any rate, doesn't matter until you get to the final table usually.

M is sb+bb+ante. In the early rounds of a tournament there is usually no ante so your M=sb+bb. since 1sb=.5bb, then M=1.5bb. So to get BB from M just multiply it by 2/3. Course at later levels its not as easy and you'll have to use the formulas people listed above.

BB is the easiest mathematical problem ever. Stack size/BB, and if you can't do something that's that easy then just plz get on my table.

is there a software to convert cash stack to BB? Everyone goes on about using raising X-amount of BB and just wondering if there is any way to convert it as it might make me look at the stack and game alot more closely.
