Everyone that I have chosen to train in the past would always want to send me hand histories. And I don't want to see hand histories cause its their past history. I tell them if they want me to train them I have to watch them play for 8hrs straight and see where there game is at in the present and figure out what leaks they have and where they are missing some good +ev spots in their game. What I do notice is their game deteriorate after the first hr if they are not doing well.

So basically in general after 1 hr their game goes from their A game to B game and then 2 hrs they go to B- and then after 3hrs if they are break even on the session it starts to go to the C to D type game and then after 4 hrs they are pretty tilted. And I see a lot of auto piloting in minor spots where they miss ev after a few hrs. In a vacuum its a big deal even though that one hand it really is not.

So part of what I was doing was to see how many hrs they can play at their optimal level. I can go for days and my focus was always on volume not the money I won or lost so I had no issues playing 8 to 12 hrs straight. I only took breaks to go to bathroom or get a drink and come right back. That is where the most ev actually is against regulars, is the later hrs when people played for along time their game shrinks from A to C or D game after 3 or 4 hrs and these regs are losing. They have the big bankrolls that is what you really want to go after. Thats why I believe the long sessions is the most +ev way to play poker. But a lot of players cant' do it.

What you guys should do is figure out how long you can play your A game and time it every session. If its 2 hrs then only play 2 hrs. IF its only for 30m play 30m sessions. You still want to play a lot of hrs but you break it up into more session for the day. Just doing that alone for players i was training their results drastically improved. I see a lot gto talk about how to play hands differently to get better. But how you structure your game around the way your mind is wired is just as important to the foundation of playing at optimal level to maximize EV. Anytime you are sick or you feel sluggish or tired don't play. You have to be very alert to max your EV. That was probably my biggest mistake as pro poker player was trying to play through a sick day or being tired and those were always my biggest losing days when I did lose. If I just took those days off I would of saved a lot of money. This is a big part of poker that players for some reason don't pay attention to and its a big part of making it as a poker player. You have to build your game around the way you are wired.

my sports psychologist explained to me that human attention is fully engaged for about 45 mins, and that you can train to improve but it can rarely go over 90 mins. So my average session is around 90 mins and I play multiple sessions a day instead of doing longer but fewer ones.

As for the long 8-12 h sessions. I see it similar to people who say they play 12 tables and they can focus just fine. That tells me that your baseline focus is not very high for you to not be able to notice a difference more than your focus being so good that it can overcome human biology
