1) As above .. Most live Players call too wide and smaller opening sizes could create a domino effect
2) As above .. Most live Players don't 3b enough, so the chances of you being exploited are lessoned
.. In both cases 3b/4b should be taken 'more seriously'
3) The 'happy medium' opening bet in a live game can change based on just one Player's dynamic
4) I will adjust my opening bet sizing either way depending on who's in LP or even in the Blinds and their anticipated defense frequency. This can be a valuable 'misdirection' if the good Players are paying attention to what you're turning over at the various opening sizes and not realizing you are changing them based on 'targets' as opposed to hand strength or a set formula.
In general, you need to be willing to make more subtle short term adjustments in a live setting than the presumed long haul of online play. GL
