Certain bad starting hands such as 72 or a few others or even any hand with a deuce, get a 50% or some other percent rebate when they lose money. The other players don't know thy might win a smaller pot than expected when the qualifying losing hands are exposed. Obviously the correct strategy is now way different than regular holdem.

Searching for an improvement for trash hands that would let them be more playable is a normal thing. I tried to do that many times. I think sooner or later most players will sometimes get tired of getting an unplayable sequences of weak hole cards. And these can last long sometimes in NLHE. I think that's the main reason Short Deck Poker was created and promoted. And all the Zoom and Fast Fold online tables also.

I won't refer to the rules you have suggested, because I'm not sure if I understood them correctly. I suppose it's about getting 50% money back when playing weak hands, but this might be a too powerful advantage for these.

I personally found a perfect solution for boring sequences in NLHE - it's playing "Hard Rock Casino" (2007) on Playstation 2. Old game, but it has the best poker AI I ever played and it's so difficult to win a 360 players MTT in this game. The cash games are easy, but MTT's really require skills to finish 1st. It really teaches a lot about poker and what's most important you can fast forward all the hands you folded, so you don't have to wait and you can play super fast I definitely recommend this rare jewel to everyone who is bored with waiting long in NLHE for a good hand and constantly hungry for action.
