Hey guys, I think this is a simple question, and I will try to put it into GTO context.

Let's say BU opens, SB calls and Hero on BB has a choice.

GTO Wizard has Hero defending here around 40%.

While SB calls 2.1%.

But what would happen if we node locked SB to simulate a recreational to call with, lets say a 40% frequency while keeping the same 3bet frequency of around 10%?

Should we see an increase on BB calls frequency compared to the nodelock-free GTO solution? My guess is it should be given we are facing now a weaker range.

And if we stretched this concept a bit, and we made the SB nodelock several ev costing errors postflop simulating a recreational, would that also impact BB wanting to get into the pot with more hands?

Thanks in advanced.

Depends on a fish, you can call wider but not so much with hands that are dominated by both ranges. You can call 65o for example, but K2o will in most case negative EV call.

I wonder how wider the range can go.

For example BB vs BU alone defends around 45%~

BB vs BU + SB ~40%

But what would happen if we gave SB a calling range of about 40% + 10% of 3bet as I said, instead of the 2% call + 10% 3bet of GTO?

Could the range go higher than what we would defend against a GTO BU alone at some point?

I guess this would be easy to respond with personalized solver work, sadly I have no access to it rn, my guess is it could given the equity of some of our hands increasing, the positional advantage and increased pot odds. (the pot odds alone are not enough given we defend less against two players than against one, but it would be worse if the pot odds stayed the same).
