I have been thinking about bet sizing recently and I'm not quite sure I get it

BTN vs BB

BTN raises
BB calls
Flop: 2h4cTs
BTN bets 1/3 pot
BB calls
Turn: 9s

What bet size would you use on the turn here and why? Or, what different bet sizes would you use with which parts of your range?

I see many people bet 1/2 - 3/4 pot here. But why?

I would use a bet of 2/3 for some part of my range and and an overbet for hands like AT or better.

Overbet. 1.5-2x pot because villain raised almost all their nutted hands vs the small flop bet in theory and we want to go all in with our nut hands on the river and set up for that with our turn size. We can also slip in some decent value hands into the turn overbet range to check back river too

People bet smaller in real games because they don't know about overbetting and can't identify appropriate spots

If you know villain calls some of his sets would you still overbet? And are you overbetting JT - KT or just AT+?

100% this ^

Even if they call sets and two pair that only accounts for a small fraction of their range. Your overpairs and top pair have a lot of incentive to bet huge in order to fold out overcards, gutshots, draws, and extract value from worse.

Here's the GTO Wizard strategy:

Here's a hand breakdown:

Do you often vary your bet sizing based on your hand? I keep mine consistent but am considering playing round with varying it vs weaker opponents to recognise more value vs calling stations

The turn does not complete any straights or flush draw combinations. And so, betting small on the turn is not something to consider. PiO mainly uses the small bet on the turn when opponents can have straights- or flushes in his range. Otherwise, the default sizes are 67-75% and overbet.
