Hey, I've been playing around with using approximate preflop GTO ranges for 6max. I seem to end up playing about 30/25 when the table is full. This seems a little looser than I expected, but I don't know how to level set what gto vpip/pfr should be. Also, there are reasons why these numbers might be slightly inflated. After I get reads I will start stealing the blinds more from nits and widening my RFI ranges if the people behind under-3bet.

Also, I notice a big impact on my VPIP if tables run short handed for a while, which makes sense as it means we get fewer UTG hands where our RFI% is 16%. I've kind of taken a liking to reviewing seat specific RFI% as, unlike VPIP, these are stable even when the table isn't full.

30/25 is loose compared to GTO but as you said it can be an advantage to play looser vs some players

What would you guess a pure GTO vpip/pfr would be?

Isn't this how everyone does it anyway? How else is there to do it? You don't start with an overall target VPIP and PFR and then work backwards surely?

I don't know why VPIP is such a popular statistic. You can't actually turn it into ranges so easily and it will vary due to things the player can't control like empty seats. Another thing I really like about looking at LJ RFI, HJ RFI, CO RFI, and BTN RFI as a 4-vector is you can see very clearly how positionally aware people are.
