After it being announced in this forum that you where now taking Australian players I took the time to check out a few sites and promotions. I also got a PM from RPMSeth detailing the promotions at RPM. Everything looked good so I decided to sign up and deposit.

After downloading the software, creating an account and filling out my details I run into the following:

So I contact Live support and have the following exchange:

Brendan: [20:32] Was in the process of signing up, entered all details and verified email. I go to deposit but get a message : " You cannot initiate a deposit at this time. You do not have permission to make deposits." Why is this?
RPMJon: [20:32] Hey there.
Brendan: [20:32] hey
RPMJon: [20:33] Are you playing from Australia?
Brendan: [20:33] yeah
RPMJon: [20:33] Unfortunately we don't accept Australian players for real money.
Brendan: [20:34] An anouncement was made on 2+2 forums that you do by one of your reps which is why I signed up
RPMJon: [20:34] I apologize for that. At this time we have made the decision to not allow real money play for Australians.
Brendan: [20:35] ok

I mean why not announce this? Why not contact those you've PM'd and make a correction? I clearly stated I was Australian In the PM you received.

So in short thanks for wasting my time, please announce the change so you don't frustrate others.

Phew - Good thing I didn't get a P2P Xfer yet.

This is not like RPM. Have you spoke with RPMSeth?

The announcement made was in error. We have since contacted our existing Australian players to apologize for the inconvenience.

We look forward to serving players in Australia in the future... that day will come!

I seriously doubt that RPMSeth would make that announcement as a joke.

This is something I would really like to see RPM/Merge do. I know they are doing what they can, but this is another way they could increase traffic dramatically in a quick period of time.

Regarding Seth, me neither as he's always professional and supportive. I'm just not sure about OP (nhf OP).

Unfortunately it wasn't an April Fool's joke, the thread was posted a few days ago and removed a few hours after it was posted. 2+2 was the only place we had announced that we were accepting Australian players. However, the decision was made not to accept Australian players for the time being, so I deleted the thread and notified all users signed up to RPM Poker from Australia.

Fortunately, though, there were only a handful of people affected. For that I apologize, and we do look forward to serving you in the future.

Thank for the update Seth. I know you have a good sense of humor but really couldn't see you doing this as an April fools joke.

Hang in there Aussie's. I'm sure Seth and Jon are doing everything in their power to get you on RPM. Hopefully just a matter of time.

Why is there such a problem with Aussie players on this site ?
